Template Instructions

Template Instructions
B efore we get into the specifics of the codes for the templates that we have built as an example, all the templates are totally different yet designed ( scriptwise) the same. The reconfigurations below unless otherwise stated are the "Norm" for all the templates. If any of the scripts have totally different reconfigurations you can find the changes on this page by looking for the name of the page as you scroll down. If you need assistance on any of the generated codes feel free to contact us and we will assist you and if you request we will build you an example of the template you want. Or We can build the template as a page for you if you so desire. (Building the page for you would go under our full services and you would need to contact us as to a price quote)

Once you go to the site, select your template and change all the images to what you want them to say. Now you will now go to transmissle to send it to yourself. Here you will have two choices, either to ftp the code to your editor or email it to you.. Here is where the fun starts. If you are going to email it then you will see all the files that will be sent. Before you "send" you need to upload all the files to your hard drive so the images are ready to be uploaded into your editor. Do not change the names on any of the images because if you do then you have to reconfigure the code even more. To save the images right click on each image link then open it in a "New Window". When you see the image "save as". You should save them all in the same folder for easier access for uploading to your editor. Now to be on the safe side you should write down the image name and what it is to so when you get to the code it will be easier to see which image goes with which link.

Ok, now email the code to yourself and when you receive it the code will come as an attachment. When you "view" the attachment you will see the page you just built with all the boxes for the links with the little X in each box. This is because from your email unless you already uploaded the images to your editor the template can't read a "No Image". Once this attachment opens and you view the page go to "View" (top of browser) and click on it. Now go to "Source" and click on it. You are now looking at the complete HTML page. Click on "File" and then "Save as". You should save it in the same place as all the images. Once you open your editor and upload all the images then make a new page (and be sure it ends in html) if it is not going to be your "Root" directory. The attachment comes as a .htm or something else which will not display properly in all browsers. Now just paste the entire attachment (HTML Page) into your document and now the real fun starts. You now have to add links to all your images to make it work.

Note

The code is configured as not having the complete URL in the images. It is always good practice to add the complete URL path and not just the "/Your Image.jpg".

Another note on pasting the code into your document. Since it is a complete HTML page you cannot use a "basic" editor such as "Anglefire has. You need to paste it in the "Advanced" editor or simply paste it in a "Pure HTML Page".

As we stated the code is a complete HTML page so as you study the page there are no reconfigurations in the <HEAD> section It is a Java Script) other than to change the

Now For The Body Section

We can't give you the entire body section code due to the ethical and legal ramifications of displaying the entire code. The examples we give will give you the idea of how the whole code needs to be reconfigured.. First I will give you the "Default" code you received and then I will give you the code with the reconfigurations on it.

If you have noticed I deleted the  "bar.jpg"  within the code. I didnot want it there so as you can see you can delete what you do not want. Just be careful on what you delete before you do. There is more to the code but it is reconfigured exactly the same way as what you see. If you also notice I have the attribute  target="_blank"  added also at the end of the target URL's. This is so the link will open in a separate "new" window. If you leave this attribute out the link will open in the same window.
One Last Note
If you leave any of the "target" links blank by error the link will take you to your root directory page or in other words your main page that does not end in "html" or "htm". I hope this gives you an insite on how to reconfigure this code for your site.

Reconfigurations In The "Paperclip" Script
<BODY> Section

After you build the template and use the "Transmissile" to get the script, there will be a part of the code they send automatically and you need to delete it. Below is what you will see that is not needed.

.

This is what you need to remove at the end of the code. The only time you would not remove the below is if you have used it in the "Generator" to add more links to your page.
If you notice the <hr> in white that little tag is the line you see across the page. If you want to remove the line just delete the <hr> tag. There is one other tag like that further up in the code that can be removed also.

Slight "Customization" On The "Paperclip" Script

The Default script comes with "The Pencil" as an image and the "Paperclip" as an image with a link. What The Consigliere™ did was to remove the link from the "Paperclip" and add some "text" to the "Pencil" and also made it to an email link. Below are the reconfigurations for that. Also be advised that to achieve the "Text" on the "Pencil" we went to a graphic editing program (Link will be below) and layered the "Text" on top of the "Pencil". You can either go to the editing program or just right click on the "Pencil" and "Save as" and upload it and just change to image in the script.
First We will show the default and then the reconfigurations

Custom Pencil

If you want this pencil just right click on it and "Save as"

Or if you would like to customize the words on "The Pencil" yourself you can go to the "Graphic Editor" and do it yourself. When the page opens click on "Create A Graphic".

On this script also  (Paperclip)  if you want the link to open in a "New Window" use this attribute;
<a href="YOUR URL TO THE LINK"target="_blank">
Sometimes within scripts the attributetarget="newwin" does not work. So if you try that attribute and it does not open in a new window then revert back totarget="_blank"

Special Instructions On The "PurPearl" Template

This template script is reconfigured just like the other examples that are shown. There is only one other reconfiguration you need to make after you upload all the images and paste the complete URL into your document as a complete page or URL. If you will study the script closely you will notice that in the beginning of the <BODY> section the background image is a jpg that is linked to the generators site.This is what you are looking for:

<body background="../themes/purpearl/bg.jpg" bgcolor="#3B5789"
text="#6BE4C4" link="#8FEBDD" vlink="#57C2E1">
<div align="center"><center>

What you need to do is on the template page itself where you see the complete template right click on the backgound itself. When the box opens you want to "save background as". Once saved then upload it to your editor and the code should reflect your changes by looking like this:

<body background="YOUR URL TO THE IMAGE HERE/bg.jpg" bgcolor="#3B5789"
text="#6BE4C4" link="#8FEBDD" vlink="#57C2E1">
<div align="center"><center>

The reasoning and logic behind this is quite simple. If you link to the background "Image" from their site and they alter or change the image or even delete it you will be out in the cold with a "No Color" background image color.
