This month's author of the month is somebody that I feel as made huge progress as a writer. When Julie first joined my fan fiction group on yahoo groups I had to read her stuff and be like wow... her stories are uhh interesting? Yet the more I read of her stuff I realized that this was Julie and that was how she wrote. It took awhile for me to get it, but once I did I couldn't help but laugh out loud whenever I read one of her stories. Her characters say the things that most characters don't. Most of us don't have the guts to say half the things she does. Her spunky characters force you to get wrapped up in her stories.
It wasn't until she started to write her most recent story that I really began to be able to respect her versaltilty as a writer. Normally Julie's stories are pretty lighthearted. Sometimes they do tackle some controversial issues, but they are full of plenty of funny moments to balance it out. This story though immidiately struck me though because it is a lot more serious than her other stories. It tackles such issues as eating disorders, pressure to be somebody you are not, and having a boyfriend who can sometimes be way to overbearing. I REALLY love this story and I would highly reccomend it to anyone out there looking for a good fic to read. Just a warning but Nick is a bit of an asshole in this one.
