This family appears to have been in the US by 1840, but I was unable to locate a census entry for them.

I was not able to locate the Pierre & Marie Josephte in the 1860 census either, but I did find one that may be their son Pierre:

Peter was age 19 and residing in the household of Peter St. Louis. The entry states he was born in Canada, but that could be incorrect information from the person providing the data to the census enumerator.

If the following is the father Pierre, it appears that wife Josette is deceased and he either has a 2nd, very young wife, or a daughter at home with young children:
