Okay everything may not be true. But these are just some things that have either been said on T.V., by BSB, or I have just heard.
1 - The 4th and final single off the now Record Setting 10x Platinum "Black and Blue" Will be different Depending on where you live. Though final plans have not yet been made on which Single will be released in what country, you can count on hearing either "Not For Me" or "Get Another Boyfriend" on your local pop radio station, and of course a new video to keep Nsync running for their money on Total Request Live (at least here in the states). As of Tuesday, July 24th, Backstreet Boys have completed only One song for their up coming 4th Us Album, Which was penned by none other than Aj McLean. Aj entering rehab for personal problems put a damper on the Bands returning to the studio Full time for a Week to try and cut 4 possible tracks for the Still untitled 4th album. "We get a better sound with all of us being in the studio together", stated Littrell last thursday at a Local Charity benifit for Pediatric Aids. "We could each record our parts on our own, but we feed off energy from one another, plus we don't want Aj to feel Left out of the creative process." The new album Street date for the US as of now is 4/20, of course this is only if recording goes according to plan. The track finished a Week prior to July 4th was Writen by AJ and produced by BT (Nsync- "POP", Britney- "Take Me Home"), has been Titled "Dirty Little Secrets". Barry Weiss (Jive Records exec.) recently talked to MTV ASIA about the Song, and the new Backstreet Project. "You know how they say, You Can't Judge a book by it's Cover? In this case you can't Judge the song by it's Title. When Aj sent me the Demo Disc, it has 2 tracks on it. I was expecting 2 new songs, i poped it in and Track 1 was him Explaining what the song meant to him, and then when Track two came on, i instantly double checked the package to make sure he didn't give me the wrong disc. It's not a typical Backstreet song. It's Techno, Dance, R&B- Anything but 'Pop'. I've talked with each of the Boys and they are aiming at a new Style of music. They are dealing with a Lot of new things at this point. Brian and Kevin are Married, Nick is dealing with personal Issues & of Course AJ is too. We are looking at putting together a 20 Track release, Maybe more. They are wanting to callaborate like there is no tomorrow. They all want to work with Different people, so probably look for 5 guest appearances or maybe even more. Right now we have locked Down Shakira, no song has been picked...but that should definatly be hot. She is the latin Britney, only Hardcore. Totally Huge in the Spanish Speaking market. We are also Tossing around the Idea of Maybe Missy Elliot...Lil' Kim, you know where I'm going with this." We've also been told there might be a cameo appearance by on of the Ex-Girlfriends
2 - (This was taken from a BSB Zine) i do not have any connection with bsb or jive. This was taken from a backstreet boys online zine. If you want to send this to someone else DO NOT FORWARD THIS EMAIL !!!!! just copy n paste to another email =) **The Backstreet Boys sold 3.6 copies of Black and Blue here in the U.S. it's first week.** But don't hold your breath waiting for Soundscan or Jive to announce it because it isn't going to happen. Here is how I came about this information. I was waiting in line for concert tix this morning when I struck up a conversation with another woman who was getting tix for another venue. But she also thinks the Boys are pretty good, even though she admitted she wasn't a "die-hard fan". She actually likes 'NSync better, not because of the vocals (she said the BSB are far superior), but because she just likes the up-tempos more and likes the dancing emphasis in the 'NSync shows. This lady has a very wide taste in music, believe me! From Nine Inch Nails to Limp to 98 Degrees. We started talking about Black and Blue and she said she really liked it. She had also heard of the MFC, and she said she would look us up on the Internet because she liked the idea about all the charity work that we do. Anyways, we got to talking about first week sales, and she told me that she grew up in the Orlando area, and she has a good friend who is directly affiliated with Jive. Her friend's family owns Kingworld productions, and she mentioned several names that I know for a fact are associated with the Boys and Jive. (No, she has never met them, nor does she claim to know them personally). **Anybody remember that little post from the BOOST club that ended up on the MFC message board and other boards that stated the Boys had sold 3.6 million so far? And then it suddenly "disappeared" just like that?** Well, this was the EXACT number this lady quoted to me! I asked her how she came up with this information, and she said it all started back with the sale of NSA when she went to buy a copy for her daughter the first week it came out, and she noticed a #2 by the "quantity" line. But yet she only paid for one. She said she asked the store manager about it, and he said that was how Jive had instructed all of them to be keyed in. (??) She wasn't happy with that answer, so she called her friend in Florida because she knew she was associated with Jive, but she claimed ignorance about the whole thing. But then after Black and Blue came out, her friend gave her the whole scoop and told her that NSA did NOT sell 2.4 million that first week. It only sold 1.2 million, just barely beating out the Boys' record. The inflated figures came from carefully-placed marks on the bar codes that automatically registerd a single purchase of NSA as being 2 copies, although most consumers never saw the discrepancy or were unaware of the marks. I was still a little skeptical here, so I asked her why Jive would intentionally do this, and she quoted the "boy band" feud thing... trying to keep the fires of competition going between the fans. So why would Jive deliberately LOWER the numbers for Black and Blue if it really sold 3.6 million copies? She said her friend told her that this will actually BOOST sales for both albums, and that they (Jive) are centering a lot of attention on NSync right now and trying to keep them "on top" because they figure they can get one more album out of them before they lose their very young teen and pre-teen fanbase. And then it will be all over. NO multi-album deals have been offered to NSync, and we all know that the Boys have a 5-album deal, which will probably take them at least 6-8 years or so to fill, depending on whether or not double-album or single-album releases are planned for the future. **In other words, Jive knows that the Boys are here to stay, and they're milking the NSync cash cow for everything they can right now!** If the Boys leave Jive, which they have hinted at recently in the press, Jive will plummet rapidly. They will have Britney and NSync, both of which have a very "iffy" chance at longevity. So do the Boys know about this? That I can't tell you, but her friend told her that she thought they did, and that they're okay with it because they're trying to get away from the "boy band" competition between them and NSync. Beating their record would have just fueled the fire even more. They're distancing themselves from this whole mess and trying to re-invent themselves both musically and personally. Do I believe this person? Well, I can't imagine why she would make something like this up. And she admitted to liking NSync more. And if you look at some of the "rumors" that were flying around when NSA first came out about messed-up receipts and such, it makes sense. And did anyone notice how tight-lipped sources were with giving the public any info about Black and Blue's sales at first? The media was broadcasting NSA's sales tallies almost on a daily basis earlier this year! And nowhere have I seen WalMart's actual first-week sales posted. Very interesting to think about. But I have to say this... if this is true, I have just gained a huge amount of respect for the Boys. To know what is going on and NOT say anything says volumes to me. And on the opposite hand, for Nsync to be equally knowledgeable about all of this literally makes me ill. Again, I have NO WAY of proving this, but I have a feeling that time will eventually weed this little scandal out. And guess who will come out smelling like a rose, STILL playing to packed-out audiences, and STILL selling a ton of records??
3 - (This was sent to me in e-mail by this girl doing the petition...) Help Help! BSB needs us! I am sending you this E-mail for the reason that MTV has gone too far. For example *N'sync has only one song out, which is "Pop" It hasn't been out too long, yet it has six nominations for the VMAs! The Backstreet Boys have two songs out; "Shape of my Heart"and "More than That". For both of these songs, they only got two nominations! The have worked hard, and their music is loved worldwide, not to mention they are like the beginning of boy bands! And if you remember , "I want it that way" is the most requested song in TRL history, and has been #1 more than any other song. So, why, why only TWO nominations?? Why MTV didnt give them what they deserve! We need to stop this shit! We will fight until we get our ways. BSB are way better than this! So please sign this petition . We are not going to give up on Kevin, Nick,AJ,Howie, and Brian. They deserve to be recognized for their hard work and talent. If you are a TRUE BSB fan, and agree, please send you name, age, and comments for MTV to backstreetbabie0@aol.com or goto the site and check out the petition there. BSBNOMINATIONS.8M.COM This site/petition will be given directly to Carson by me, to make sure he gets it! please help with this!!!!! please please pass this on to all of your friends! MUCH LOVE KTBSPA!(But I want to say that "The Call" is another song that was out...she didn't mention that. That's the video nominated for Viewer's Choice so vote for that on MTV.com. Also, I think it was "Shape of My Heart" video who had the most days at number 1...anyways, go sign the petition if you want.)
