This is the mid-sized offering from RockBeach Guitars featuring the full chambering for rich tone and similar styling to The Mantis but a bit more "conventional" in proportions being 11.25" wide at the lower bout. This is also a symmetrical design for lefties or righties and is a sloped shoulder design for excellent upper fret access.

Since it is a bit smaller than The CamelBack, it is also a bit lighter. I have built one of these in poplar and with a mahogany neck, it is just under 6 pounds!!

The first customer guitar was in fact a poplar model done in RockBeach Candy Caramel with blackburst as shown. The headstock looks similar to a model from one of the major manufacturers, but my variation on the design allows for a straighter string pull. The only way to make it perfectly straight would be to make it an asymmetrical machine mount and that would have just not looked right for this design. It is so close that it is just not going to affect tuning stability.

The top two photos show the customer Cicada. The middle photo shows that customer Cicada body being routed on the CNC router. The next two photos show a Cuban mahogany skeleton with Goncalo Alves top and back being built. Below that is the finished product! Continuing on, is another poplar Cicada followed by a unique maple cicada with a 1/4" layer of Padauk in the middle for contrast and a more complex harmonic structure.
