This is a 1992 Honda CBR 600 F2 which has been converted into a Streetfighter. The project took about 4 months to complete 1/2 by me and the other 1/2 by a shop on my block. Starting with the front is the tree mount. Although many prefer to drill into the triple tree for mounting the handlebar brace, I found Spiegler, a company in Eastern Europe that manufactures these sorts of parts. The brace sits on top of the tree, but this compresses the front forks thus leaving you with little free play on your front fork dampening (you WILL feel bumps in the road). You HAVE TO put extended break lines and an extended clutch cable to compensate for the 1-2 1/2" increase in distance due to the dirt bike handlebar rise. I choose the Moose "Dominator" dirtbike handlebars for the "Streetfighter" look and to make it simpler to control the bike at higher speeds (& it works). The front Acerbis DHH headlight fairing is for that "Streetfighter" look again. BUT, the headlight bulbs themselves are NOT DOT Street legal. They are 2 35W bulbs (1 pencil & 1 flood). The Targa digital speedometer has an extended line to fit the length of the CBR's forks to the top of the handlebars. The speedometer works off of a magnet detecting the RPMs of the total diameter of the rim size (17" x 3.24= MPH). I placed a Bell (bicycle mirror) on the front for legal reasons.I put Pro Grips on for a better feel on the bars for longer rides and customized my wire harness, re-routing several wires to give a cleaner look. I put front turn signal fork brackets with 1998 FZR 600 front lights. In addition, I had a Gorilla manual cam chain tensioner installed due to the fact that CBR F2's are notorious when it comes to replacing them. A new RK quick acceleration chain and sprocket kit was added (1 tooth down in the front). And a Continenal Contiforce 180 tire on the rear (stock it 160 for the 1992 CBR F2). The pegs brace for a cargo net was cut off in addition to the rear fender. I placed/drilled LP fluch-mount rear turn signals in replacing the ones I had just cut off with my fender. My license plate hangs from 2 key chains making it difficult to read by Police or burgelers who want to steal it. Custom powdercoated rims were added with chrome valve caps. I installed a smaller Cobra F1 exhaust pipe and a Gorilla alarm for protection. Only 100% fully synthetic oil has been in this bike and must remain that way unless the engine in cleaned out completely. Zip ties in conjunction with the CBR fairing’s mounting tabs hold the rear left and right side plastics on. I put in a new Yuasa battery and did a tune up myself in 2003....
