Hitomi starts out as an ordinary girl on Earth. She's on the track team, has a big crush on the boys' track star, and loves to tell all of her friends' fortunes. Her most prized posession, aside from her tarot cards, is her grandmother's pendant, which isn't quite as ordinary, however, it is mainly a good luck charm, and an occasional pendulum. While trying to beat thirteen seconds in a sprint, Hitomi sees a strange boy on the track, but runs right through him and passes out. When she wakes up, who is there but her crush,Amano. She is then crushed when her best friend tells her he's leaving and that she should tell him how he feels. Hitomi does so by making a bet that if she cracks thirteen seconds, he'll give her her first kiss. But that night the mysterious boy, Van, appears with a dragon. Using her ability to tell the future, Hitomi helps him slay the dragon and gets transported back to Gaea with him. Hitomi's accurate hunches turn into scary visions. Her pendant is now used to locate the invisible. And her crush is transfered to Allen Schezar, who looks and sounds exactly like him. However, as time goes on, her feelings for Van grow, making her extremely confused to who she truly loves. But Hitomi has competition, what with Merle, Van's childhood companion, and Millerna, Asturia's pretty youngest princess who is in love with Allen. Hitomi, although she adapts to Gaea, dislikes the constant war and having others use her powers to fight it. Her readings and confusion further the chaos in Gaea and soon she becomes a target of Zaibach herself. Eventually, she uncovers the mysteries of Gaea's creation, and her own powers. But that's kind of spoiler territory, and I ramble on too much anyway.
