Eries is the second oldest Aston sister, however not the heir to the throne. This is most likely because she refuses to marry, or so it is said. Eries is extremely overprotective of her little sister and Millerna resents her a lot for preventing her from doing what she wants. But Eries does, I believe, want what's best for her little sister. Throughout most of the story, she tries her best to keep Millerna away from Allen. A number of reasons are the cause of this, the main being that she believes that he just likes Millerna because she reminds him so much of Marlene. Another could be because she likes him herself. Of course, she doesn't act like it all and is often rather mean to him. They have somewhat of a love/hate relationship. Despite the way she acts around him, he still asks her to take care of his sister instead of Millerna. Eries has always been one of my favorite minor characters in this show. She strikes me as the black sheep in the family. Different from both of her sisters,she doesn't seem to be their father's favorite. She's her own woman, I think, and yet, she doesn't wanther sister follow her own path. It's somewhat hypocritically of her, I suppose, but she's really just trying to protect Millerna so she can do what's best for their country. That's my analysis anyway. Think what you will.
