Dryden Fassa is a merchant who is engaged to Princess Millerna of Asturia. Needless to say, he only got that because of his father's pushing. He often travels and Millerna hasn't seen him in years. He shows up near the end of the series and just in time too. He's extremely rich and this comes in handy for Van and Escaflowne. He's rather conceited, but basically not a bad guy and he does love Millerna. They get married, but he gives her the ring back at the end and goes on to rebuild his merchant career.
