Graduation Day
I sit in the audience watching this years group of kids rise & walk proudly toward the stage. Walking across with heads held high, their friends either waiting for their turn or are already returned sitting/standing/applauding/cheering When everyone knows your name you have achieved fame in this stage of your life. Flashback... to another graduation ceremony & its my turn at the glory & hear what sounds like a hundred / a thousand / a million hands & voices beating in unison like a gigantic heart for me. For me. Me. Just about a decade later I feel as though I have aged a century or more. To think those angry / lonely / tumultuous times were some of my best.... |
Between Bells
There is nothing more paradoxical than an empty classroom. sanitary potential, thoughts & hopes & dreams & fights / anger / love / youth faded , fleeting images, emotions, lives begging someone to take hold & rekindle some flames of desire to learn to yearn for knowledge |
