Vampires

Vampires must be one of the most misunderstood creatures ever. To begin, vampires are not really a race of their own. Becoming a vampire is really more of a disease, and somewhat of a curse. This is my favorite creature to write about, because they are one of the most interesting.

I don’t know exactly where to begin. Vampires are supposedly originated in Romania, long before the historical vampire Vlad Dracula, Prince of Many Faces. And I don’t mean from the book Dracula, because that story can’t be farther than the truth. Actually, most human opinions of “modern vampires” and “original vampires” are damn near entirely wrong. And to begin, I will start with the original vampires, and what they really are.

Whether vampires originated in Romania or Babylonian Five doesn’t really matter. The point is they’re existant. Vampires are creatures that were once human but bit by another vampire. When bitten by a vampire the being is drained of their soul and become the undead, or are killed altogether. Once they are a vampire, they continue the work of biting victims to survive off of other’s souls. The souls and fresh human blood keep them surviving and is the only way for them to do so. Until a vampire grows older, they must kill at least one a week a get fresh, live human blood or they will die.

Vampires generally sleep during the day and come out at night, for the light hurts there pale and easily burnt skin. Eventually, a vampire in light could burn away to nothing. But, if he/she has fed on enough souls, it can stand out in the daylight. As for the whole idea of vampires being able to turn into bats or any other animal for that matter, is compeltely untrue. Bats are really in no relation whatsoever to vampires. Vampires are dark and gothic creatures that live off sould and blood, do not fly and don’t have any looks that resemble a bat’s.

Vampires are pale because they have been drained of thei blood and soul. They are often increased of strength, speed an agility compared to a human. Any human is a vulnerable victim to a vampire, because there are only a few ways to kill a vampire, and when you’re about to bitten by a vampire unexpectedly (element of surprise), I doubt you would have enough time in between to slay your predator.

A wooden stake through the heart is probably the most well-known way to slay a vampire. But not the best choice. Having a stake handy isn’t very common. However, to save a vampire and change them back, an innocent soul must die. And since there are very few human innocents if any at all, it’s not an easy task. Young children are the only true human innocents, and they lose their innocence quickly. And therefore, the vampire population in multiplying quicker than the human race thinks.

Vampires are not as easy to spot as you may think. Besides two long, sharp fangs, a vampire may looks just as a mortal human being. They also have very, very pale skin. Besides physical abilities, appearance can be extremely deceiving, which is very good for the vampire when hunting.

So-called “modern vampires” are said to just be fake and used in movies, and the kinky “neck-biting thing” is used as a sex appeal. But that’s not a real vampire, is it? Neck-biting really has nothing to do with vampires. It’s the surviving off human souls and being immortal. Killing to retain the power of immortality is a large responsibility, even a curse. As a human, you can’t even imagine… you don’t want to. But trust me, thriving of the fresh re-zealing blood is unimaginably fullfilling.

Vampires, however, have one arch-enemy, and that is the werewolf. Werewolves and vampires have been enemies since there were werewolves and vampires. These two creatures both have the increased strength, agility and speed. They have been trying to defeat each other for centuries, and have not yet succeeded, and maybe never will. The only type of werewolf that vampires are not against is the Faery. Centuries ago, a group of werewolves were bitten my vampires, and were given vampiric power. They were able to fly, and had the abilities of a vampire as well. They allied and still do ally vampires in their battles and finding human victims.
