How to Join

The requirements for joining FidoNet are extremely few: 

Get a copy of the FidoNet policy document, Policy4

Set up a working system

Send a Netmail message directly to the nearest Net Coordinator with the
information spelled out in Policy4 , and agreeing to abide by its
technical requirements and to abide by any regional or network proceedures
which may be in place within compliance of Policy4.

In practice, it can be a little more complicated, of course. Policy4 is
pretty clear, but it won't help you set up your software. Some software
is well documented, some is not; some is a beast to configure, some is
not; some is free, some is not. It used to be that assembling all the
pieces took alot of time and technical savvy, but there is alot of help
out there.  Your best bet is to check out all the links on the page where
you found these documents, and you will likely come across more help than
you would expect.

If you are having difficulty locating the local net nearest to you, or that
particular net does not have the ability to feed you via the method you will
be using to access FidoNet, then send e-mail to me at:
