DAYS LEFT UNTIL IT'S 5 YEARS AFTER MY MOM SAID "IN 5 YEARS" IN RESPONSE TO "CAN I TAKE THE CAR TO THE GAME AND TAILGATE?" BE THERE!

Second Wind

Hmm...is it that I can't sleep, or I don't want to sleep? But if I don't want to sleep, what do I want to do? I can't think of anything else. Nope, that isn't what I want to do, perverts. Besides, don't you think that in some point in the what, 4 or 5 years this has been going on I would have tried that by now?

No, this is a deeper thing, I fear. I think too much at night during the summer. It keeps me up. Don't ask me to not think, it won't happen. My brain's gears turn constantly (and do very little). This senario, that one, this thing based random fictional stuff. I almost did get to sleep tonight too. Aroung midnight I could have just stopped reading, not come online to chat with a few people, and just slept. Nah, I want to know too much about stuff for that. What stuff? Oh, chat with a few people, say what's up?, bother them about stuff.

Funnier still is that once I am asleep, I'll be damned if I have to wake up. dreams have been around a lot of late...not doing much to reveal psychie or whatever, just expanding. Well...no, they are revealing psychie. There was one where it went into what happened to Drizzt after he left his home and wandered into the vast Underdark (R.A.Salvatore's Dark Elf trilogy book 1), since I just finished it that night...but he did the thing I want to do most. So yeah...I kinda wrote (read: dreamed) his story in the form of what I want to happen to me...through him...or something. Yeah...that's all I want...maybe that's all I've ever wanted...

Someone to say "Good night" back...
...and typing doesn't count.

Heh, It's Been A Week Hasn't It

What happened since Wednesday you ask?

Thursday...nothing.

Friday...Met Yankee game! Jose and Mangan spent most of the game watching the bra-less girl they affectionately named "nipples", Mangan stole a box, and the bull pen still can't pitch. I almost got Cohen to eat his shirt. I must thank Mike again for them later :)...oh yeah, Mnagan owes Mike $16 for the ticket...

Saturday...woke up to incesent cries of "WHERE'S HARRY POTTER!!!" Noticing that the canceling of my bank card cancelled the order for some reason (or at least that's my best guess), the situation was promtly fixed. After sitting around feeling drained for a little after that, it was off to Tay's a little late...3 hours. Fun times, met this "Pete", and drove everyone home...except Gabe. Gabe left at around 11:50 or so. I left with everyone at 12:20 or so.
Gabe got home at 3:30.
After driving to Miranda's (getting off at the wrong exit, one close to Lex), Laura's, Lex's, waiting through 10 minutes of planning, going on the belt, getting off for el Greco, eating a Turkey burger and fries, and getting to Shari's, it was 3:30.

FUCKING LATE NIGHT FERRY SCHEDULES! screams everyone from SI reading this.

Sunday...nothing.

Monday...went to that free movie thing. See Granger's journal. Sarah was there, as was Jon Gilliam (the latter prompting the word "Whaaaa?!"), although I hardly talked to either of them. Sheela was...an interesting personality, and the rest of the gang was yes. The movie...I forget it's name...Muray and the Sundance Kid or something...yes I know I could look at Grangers journal to get this =P...was pretty cool! It just kept going and going for 2 hours or so. Good shit. Now if only the lawn didn't smell like shit and create large patches of wetness on me, it would have been a perfect night.

Tuesday, the day I'm writing this, featured an interview! Group style at Old Navy. I think it went decently well...It was more of an hour long conversation between 6 people about working. I managed to put in my two cents a decent amount of times, I think I was the third most talkative of the 5 candidates for whatever that's worth...plus I managed to bring out the sympathy factor when, as an "ice breaker", it was asked "What's your favorate flavor of ice cream?". Oh well, I'll know within a week I guess.

Wednesday...

Ahh...a day where I can get some sleep...

Mail today? Huzzah! My new bank cards came in! (they were lost, I think I mentioned that...)

Back to relaxing..."Lauren, who's on the phone...Old Navy?!...::clears throat::....::clears it again::...Hello?...Yes...sure, I can come in next Tuesday...group interveiw, sure...ok, bye."

Outstanding news! Plus the sausages are almost defrosted...::cook cook::...ahhh....a good day was today!

Now for the problem...Next Tuesday at 1pm is said group interview (posted here partially so that I have another reminder)...I need clothes...and to stop using elipses and use single periods. Oh well...I'll be back on later. mom needs on now. Later!

On Food

Foods I eat...

  • Anything that's hand held starch. Dry cereal like cheerios and chex. Potato chips or fries, home made or otherwise....although now more likely home. Corn on the cob and italian/frenchfreedom bread is an occational must
  • Meat. Preferably from a cow a pig or a turkey. Chicken sometimes acceptable.
  • Non-cheeses
  • Sandwiches. Sandwiches are always better. Why? No silverware. You put put lots of stuff in there too. Meatloaf. Meatballs. Sliced meat. PEANUTBUTTER AND JELLY! Eggs. Lots of stuff...this includes hot dogs and burgers and meatball subs too.
  • Pizza. Take any food that tastes good, put it onto the pizza, and you get...a better pizza. This will eventually be evidenced by the pizza of doom!, if it's not already by the monstrocities Granger and I made at Erica's (everything and cookie-dough covered crust, respectively).
  • Tomato sauce....on almmost anything above that involves meat.
  • Onion in the meat.
  • Noodles are cool too...although they should be with the starches...

Veggies are all taken in as part of the pizza/noodle combination. Fruit's taken in as pineapple pizza or juice...or the tomato sauce (ITS A FRUIT!).

I donno...it's 3:20 and I can't sleep (DESPITE HAVING BEEN DEAD ALL DAY) so I got hungry and though "hmm, I should explain views on food." Thus this mess...I think it works. Like on the starch, the occational other stuff to help (mainly proteins for muscle and water because yes), and that's it. I donno...I just figure eat more carbs, they get used quick and have that whole less fat thing going on. Yeah...whatever. I ran out of chips and chex. Later.

    Musings?

Saw my cousin Stephen this weekend. He's kinda cute...he's the best trumpeter in his (4th grade/first year) band, and he's still afraid to attack a boss head on in Mario SunShine lest he *gasp* lose a life.

Also saw my uncle. He claimed my resume is "going around". Whatever...the more places I apply to at this point the better.

D&D to start soon hopefully...the RIT edition. While the $8 toll to drive to Tino's seems daunting, when I think about it, if I take someone else with me and we split the toll, that's $4 each, the cost of the subway round trip anyway.

Dr. Strangelove was a silly movie. I already knew US Generals were rediculous people!

Enter the Matrix I know is a good game for the movies in it...can't seem to want to play it alone though...the whole point of renting it was "Hey Lauren, you've gotta see this game!"...oh well. FF2 can wait a little.

    That's all.

The Week Of Nothingness (1) Ends

Nothing happened this week...nothing. I played FF2, wandered around with Shari for 2 days, and applied for a job at Old Navy. Also put the air conditioners in today and rented Enter the Matrix. I didn't know it was available on Game Cube...stupid Blockbuster didn't have that version or the Animatrix in, only the PS2 version (3 racks full!).

I wandered by Game Stop today too (One of three video game stores to say "Sorry we're not hiring"). Being there reminded me that Frozen Throne comes out soon, as does Wario World and Mario Golf on the cube. Mega Man X7 comes out on October 3rd too. Ahh...it's nice to know some good stuff's coming out...I should really look into this a little more too. It's been way too long.

I also would like to play D&D with someone this summer. You all know where to find me...later.

    Take Me

    Nothing Really

Pizza attempt number 6 went alright. About the same as 5...which is strange because I forgot the salt but used a lot of cornmeal. Oh well, makes for good eating :).

Tried to get D&D started today. Failed due to Kevin being out somewhere...something about having to DJ. Bah! And Jonathan wants to be an evil person. This will be interesting...how much bullshit about dungeon-dungeons and castle gaurds will I be able to come up with before we get tired of this? Speaking of all that, I should probably make some up...preferably strong enough to take him out.

Read somethign today and once again knew I'ev been raised on feel-good TV, where the answer to everythign is "well, if that's how they feel, maybe that's not right for you." I donno if that's good or not...I also know that some things that are true that come from the wrong direction are never heard properly...so yeah, I'm not talking about that one anymore.

As for the last few days, nothing much happened. Lots of hanging out, which is always fun. I need to watch Spirited Away still...If anything, I proved Shari wrong on my bra opening skillz, so :-P there. It's 4am...and I'm not even tired yet. I should do that reading thing...and the sleeping thing. Night!

    Wow...

I was actually busy during the afternoon and bored at night today. Weird...on the other hand, I now have a dungeon ready to throw at my friends. Hee hee....it only took 2 and a half hours, maybe I should waste more time on this thing to amuse myself. Oh well, I hope they can handle it and I didn't over do anythign in here. Off I go to sleep...

Currently up to: Page 58 of "A Game of Thrones"

    Done And Done

Applied at Blockbuster, donno when I'll find out about it.

    Stupid Stuff To Do

For the record, I will laugh at anyone of us who claims to be grown up.

Anyhoo, Tomorrow (Tuesday the 3rd as it would be) I should go to Blockbuster and fill out an application. Yell at me if I'm not doing that! Also this week, I should make the "Pizza Of Doom"! It would be signature item 2 at Jay's Infamous Pizza if it works. It's my whole dough meat dough sauce cheese veggies idea. It just HAS to work.

Also, the chat thing I've been kinda working on is making progress. I think I've finished the server side for now. Tomorrow I work on getting the client going. Somewhere along the line I should also get a GUI type thing working. This will be fun...I should also take out that graphics book Gabe left in Rochester.

Oh yeah, Shari, I found your copy of IT. Just remind me to bring it one day and I'll give it back.

I Hate Waking Up At Seven...

    I hate it when I can't get any...sleep.

Yeah, stuff happened I don't feel like typing about...good happy stuff that happened with friends Friday and Saturday nights. SHari probably typed about them...but it should be noted that upon getting into my car, Granger claimed his next task would be to penetrate my roof, at which point I revealed the existance of a sun roof to him. All were most ammused.

    DAMN YOU RAGNAROK!!!

God damn it...Ragnarok's gonna cost money as of Sunday. Just when it was starting to get good too. I mean...if it wasn't $10 a month, I'd go for it...and nobody say "it's $12"! I'd pay something like $60 to buy the game on a CD and then maybe pay something like 20 dollars a year to play after that, but man, not this. Maybe this will mean I'll play for 6 months ($57) when I get back up to Rochester...but I'm not a big fan of playing somehting I know I won't be able to have a save file for forever. Not my style.

    Also in the (Flynnish) news...

Went to a radiohead listening party for "Hail to the Thief" and was 5 numbers away from winning 2 tickets in a raffle. Along the way on the trip, I grabbed a book entitled "Pizza and Pasta." It's all part of the plan to one day open a pizza shop with Roger entitled "Jay's Infamous Pizza", or, as Roger pointed out, JIP! Tired of getting jipped? Try a JIP!...or Then get JIPed! Something like that...

Jay makes meatloaf take 3...Best one yet! In fact, it tastes good! This is probably due to the adding of Fennel seeds (how the fuck did I get Saomin or whatever...) and... Soy sauce. Go figure. I also basically dumped in spices...where dumped = dumped. Needed a little of something? Put in a little, then twice as much! Hee hee...I'll be high on that for a week or so...also used Red potatoes for fries. Yum Yum.

People, read Fast Food Nation! I would imagine reading "The Jungle" would be kind of like this. So yeah...write your congressmen and bitch about the meat packing industry and regulations surrounding it. Make them better.

    Home Again Home Again...

    Got home Sunday.

Went out Monday to see BRUCE ALMIGHTY! with many people. Shari Erica Heather Roger Cohen and GRANGER. Of the funny things that happened, you should check out Shari's Xanga for the infamous "Napkin Correspondance" between herself and Roger. Also of interest was my failed attempt at running along the fountain side to attack Granger. It failed when I started slipping because of the water and slipperiness, so, realizing I couldn't stay up, I did something that I knew would result in me falling ass first and cought myself with my orm using...the bottom of the fountain. On the bright side, I had touched something on the subway, so the highly chlorinated water killed anything bad I picked up from that before getting lunch. A trip into Victoria Secret also took place...yeah I could un-passive-fy that but its more fun this way...yeah the mall was big and empty and we left shortly after getting there.

Lunch at Burritoville, much writing on napkins, and then the movie. Sadly (I think) Shari had to leave before the movie because she forgot her keys at home. The end result here was that she missed a decently funny movie and I couldn't use a car pool ticket for the bridge toll later. If you've got nothing better to do and its matinee price, go see Bruce.

From there it was me Erica and Heather at Erica's over night. PIZZA WAS MADE and it was decent. Probably the best it's been done so far too :). On the list of things to try now is, from bottom to top, dough, pre-cooked meatloaf/ground meat, dough (beer dough?), sauce, veggies. So this could come out to be a burger and fries pizza. Am I insane yet???

As for sleeping arangements, we all slept in the basement. There's only one mattress in the basement. I leave to rest to your perverted imaginations...granted they'll all be wrong (I did say perverted), but it's more fun that way...Later all!

Note: quest for summer: aquire non-dal-up internet connection.

This Was Going To Be An Away Message But Then I Remebered I Have A Web Site And Expanded On It

    Longest title ever...

I'm going to sleep and I have 3 thoughts stuck in my head right now.

Friends from home are very cool people, baseball's okay too (yes, I typed okay, not great :P)...although I was kinda starting to fall into this whole groove of up here. I'll miss the people of Rochester I guess over the summer while enjoying the Stuy folk :)...of course, there's point two...the thing that might keep me away from some things and make me more srongly consider others. Anyone with half a brain knows what that is.

Then there's the other one. I thought baout it a little, and I'm pretty sure that with any female friend I've ever made on any level around my age, there's been the thought of "would I want to go out with this girl" and inevitably 99 times out of 100 the answer is yes. Whether this is low standards or high tolerance or just pure insanity, I don't know, but it needs to stop. The more I think about it the more I realize it's ALWAYS been this way...always with the sole exception of family, and always meaning I have failed to think of more than one or 2 friends who actually got a "no" from my head...at first. And I think I've mentioned this several times in the past few months, but physical standards essentially consist of good hygene, period.

So basically, my head's screwed up as much as it always has been. It's a weird one. It also raises the question of good personality vs. (above average morality and always online). I know the answer should be no here...believe me, I know this...yet there's still a strong voice saying yes. Go figure. Good thing the no voice had the summer's coming card to play in its favour (yes a British spelling :P).

Oh well...'m going to sleep...tomorrow parents arive and I pack and such...

OH! EVERYONE GO PLAY RAGNAROK! FUN! YES!

    Night.

    SPORTS REPORT

That was by FAR the worst pitching performance I have EVER seen...except maybe that time the dude threw 5 wild pitches for the Cards, but still...TERRIBLE.
