The Original Film: Info & Reviews

“How The Grinch Stole Christmas” was an amazing film in its time, original poem/story written by the talented Dr. Seuss. 1966 (or ’56… my friend Tim and I had a fight about it and now we’re both not sure) a film was created of the wonderful poem with colorful artwork that perfectly projected the Whos, the dog Max, and of course, The Grinch. “How The Grinch Stole Christmas” is now one of the most popular and treasured children’s Christmas films, right up there with “A Charlie Brown Christmas” and “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.”

But myself, I think “How The Grinch Stole Christmas” is an especially wonderful film. Well, besides the fact that I’ve always loved the Grinch, those grinchy grins, the unslighted animation, and the character profiles awe me everytime I watch it. For awhile now I’ve been one to get lost in drawings and animation, just studying it down to every last pencil mark. But look at other ‘60s cartoon films, and the animation is quite as modern as it is in “how The Grinch Stole Christmas”. And how the artists showed the mean old Grinch and his cute little mistreated dog Max, always makes you want to see it again and again.

I love Christmas shows. To me, those are why companies created Christmas in July. And even though I do so love Charlie Brown and Alf and Garfield, The Grinch will always remain #1 in my heart.

I can’t tell you the cast because I haven’t quite found it yet, because the only place the voices took were as the Whos, but it was narrated by Boris Karkloff.

This is Grinchita's review on the film, but if you wanna send one in, be my guest!!!
