in a round robin in groups of four. Each win was worth 1 point.
Each group advanced one player to the single elimination rounds.
If two players tie for high score in a group, Mark Herman will
use some differential of scores to determine who advances. There
is also the chance that two second place finishers will advance
as well to give a field of 16 for the second round.
First set of
games started on 15 October 2003 and should have ended by 15
February 2004
Second set of games started on 15 February 2004 and should end by
15 June 2004
Last set of games should start by 15 June 2004 and complete by 15
October 2004.
