OUR HEROINE
| Miss Utena Tenjou is a 14yr old star athlete at Ohtori Academy. She was orphaned as a young child and is searching for the "prince" that visited her at her parents funeral. Utena received a kiss, a ring, and a promise that they will meet again someday. She wants to become a prince herself in order to save damsels in distress (just like her prince did for her). She joins Ohtori Academy in an attempt to find him. While at Ohtori, she stummbles into a clique called the Rose Duelists. (whom happen to be mostly, the school student council). They duel with each other to possess the "Rose Bride". Who ever wins the bride becomes engaged to her, and will inherit the power to bring the world revolution. In order to win the duel, you must knock your opponents rose off their chest. Utena sees her chance to act as prince by saving the Rose Bride and protecting her from the student council |

| Anthy is the bride everyone is fighting to own. She's not a normal girl, and doesn't appear to have any will of her own. She is a puppet for the person she is engaged to. Anthy is easily abused and taken advantage of. She spends her days in the school greenhouse, where she grows the duelist's roses. Anthy is the key to the power that brings the world revolution. |

| Akio is the evil side of Dios' personality (Dios.....A.K.A. Utena's "prince"..... was split into two people....one good ,and one evil) Akio is the one guy who (much to Touga's distress) manages to seduce Utena. Touga knows Akio and of his plans of revolution....he tries to protect Utena....but is unsucessful. Utena sees her "prince" in Akio (UH DUH!) When Utena discovers the incestuous relationship between Akio and his sister Anthy, she realizes Touga's warning about them was right! Akio and Anthy were using her all along to gain the Power of Dios (the power to bring the world revolution) |

| Dios is the "prince" Utena ,so called; rememberd, as giving her words of encouragement at her parents funeral. He is her princely role model and reason for which she is trying to become a prince. Dios is the shadow that falls from the floating castle and helps Utena win the duels.......He seems to be Utena's first love. |
