This is the dedication plaque on the side wall of the abandoned,
overgrown 64th Avenue walkbridge, spanning the Clearview Expwy.
in Cunningham Park. Dated 1961, a plaque such as this exists
unknown or seen, by most New Yorkers. I wandered through the
weeds surrounding the slope leading down from the bridge, to
find this. Somehow, the plaque lends a dignity to the bridge, that otherwise would be totally lacking, if one were to judge the span, based on it's current condition. |
