HENRY PLATT: Appointed as 2nd Lieutenant, Company A, 8th Regiment, Minnesota State Militia, when that regiment was organized on July 6, 1861; enrolled on Oct. 14, 1861, as 1st Lieutenant, Company I, 4th Regiment, Minnesota Infantry; commissioned as such on Dec. 23, 1861; promoted to Captain on Nov. 25, 1862; wounded (in the hand) at Vicksburg on May 22, 1863; resigned commission on Aug. 11, 1863.
