The northbound Deegan going under the cantelevered service road, just north of 230st St. in the Bronx. North Fork Bank is a fast growing aquirer of other banks, based on Long Island. The art-decoish facades of most Deegan overpasses, distinguishes this 50's era expressway from most of it's contemporaries. Perhaps the inspiration for this is the heavy presence of so many art-deco era apartment houses in the neighborhoods the Deegan passes through. Shot 10/98. |
