WANDA B.'S OATMEAL COOKIES 1 C White Raisins 1 2/3 C Oatmeal 1/2 C Shortening 1 1/4 C Flour 1 C Sugar 1 Tsp Baking Soda 2 Med/Lg Eggs 1/2 Tsp Salt 1/4 C Milk 1 1/4 Tsp Cinnamon Rinse raisins, cover with water and simmer in small pot until softened, (you'll notice that they have plumped). Drain and let cool while you are proceeding. Cream shortening with sugar; then add beaten eggs and milk. Combine with oatmeal, rasins, and mix well with a wooden spoon. Add flour sifted with b.soda, salt, and cinnamon. Beat thoroughly. Drop onto greased pans and bake about 12 mins at 350/375 deg. Look for them to lightly brown. Makes 3 doz. small cookies, 2 doz. med/lg cookies.
