AN APPLE PATTERN
The APPLE
1. Cut out 4 pieces for Apple
2. With right sides together stitch all pieces together at side seams, leaving
top and bottom open. (This will form a tube)
3. Using a double thread, knot end and baste a running stitch 1/4” up from
the bottom edge of the apple. Gather up tightly and knot very securely. Turn apple
right side out.
4. Stuff firmly. Baste top edge of apple 1/4” down with the double thread
that is knotted.
5. Gather up stitching, push seam allowance inside apple as you gather (using
a small tool such as a sewing machine screw driver or your finger) Knot well
6. Using a double thread and a long needle, knot and secure into bottom of apple.
Draw needle up through the apple to form a dimple. Secure well into top of apple.
LEAF and STEM
1. Trace leaf onto Wonder Under.
2. Cut 2 scraps of fabric slightly larger than pattern. Press Wonder Under to
wrong side of one piece.
3. With right sides together cut out shape of leaf. Peal off paper
4. Place 4” wire down center of leaf and sandwich with other side of leaf.
Press.
5. Insert wired leaf into apple top. Hot glue 3/4” piece of cinnamon stick
for stem
NOTE: Ass a loop of gold thread to make a Christmas tree ornament!! Enjoy!!

- 8” X 16” fabric (apple)
- 4” X 5” fabric (leaf)
- 4” –26 gauge wire
- 3/4” piece of cinnamon stick
- polyester fiberfill
- scrap of heavy duty WONDER UNDER
- thread
- glue stick
- long needle
