Fall Recipes = Sweets

Icing I

Makes 4-5 cups

4 C confectioners' sugar
1 C shortening
2 T water
1 t vanilla extract

Note:
for icing a cake only (not making decorations)
add 3 T of corn syrup or water.

Combine all the ingredients in a large bowl.
Beat on low speed to combine, then beat on
medium for 5 full minutes.

Icing II

Makes 2 cups

1/2 C butter, softened
6 T shortening
1 C white sugar
2 t vanilla extract
1 T cornstarch
1/2 C warm milk

In a large bowl, cream butter, shortening, sugar,
and vanilla. Stir cornstarch into the warm milk.
Add to butter mixture.

Beat at low speed until blended.

Beat another 5 to 7 minutes until creamy.
