Later Chapter Three

The Frisbee hurdled through the air across the front yard of Alexis’s cabin in the wooded area of Port Charles, hugging the air it gilded over the head of JK Jacks, who made a valiant effort to jump up and catch it. He missed and turned around to run after it, to only see it fall into the hands of Officer V. Ardanowski.

Jax smiled, and felt him stomach twist. He could tell by the tall blonde with her, that this wasn’t a friendly visit. "V!" He called out, grinning, coming up behind his son and putting his hand on his son’s head.

"You know V, Dad?" JK asked not waiting for answer he kept going. "She comes to the school once a week and helps the art teacher…she taught me how to draw planes."

V smiled down at JK. "Hey could you do me favor buddy?"

"Sure!" JK said looking up at her adoringly.

"Could you run inside and get your Mom?"

"Sure!" JK said, turning around and running off towards the house.

Jax sighed. "Want my lawyer present. How un-cop like V. What would Taggert say?"

"That I am too nice. How are you holding up?"

"Oh fine considering." Jax said looking at her. She had cut her hair shorter again and it showed off her face stunningly. "You look good."

"Thanks. This is my partner, Sara Caldwell."

"Sara." Jax said extending his hand.

"Mr. Jacks." Sara said.

Sara and Jax shook hands…and he looked back at V. "I thought you off in Euroe somewhere, I lost you last address, and never could track you down. Never thought to check Port Charles."

V smiled weakly. "Not now Jax."

He nodded and felt Alexis coming up behind him. "Well Lexie is here." He said, reaching his hand back.

Alexis took it. "V, Sara, Hi. JK is watching TV."

V nodded and looked to Jax. "I just have to ask a few questions."

"Okay."

V took out her note pad. "You let yourself into the mansion?"

Jax shrugged. "well yeah. I knocked, I heard some bellowing inside…but no one got the door. I tried the knob, I had the plane to catch. When it opened, I walked in, and towards the den, to get to the Rose Garden. Its quicker than just walking on the grounds."

V nodded. "You always do this, every trip to town. Leave flowers for Lila."

"Yes."

"The flowers you brought."

"Sunflowers."

V smiled slightly. "You found AJ in the den."

"Yes."

"The gun was in his hand?"

"No, near his hand, in my way to check if he was breathing."

"That is why you picked it up."

"Yes."

V nodded and wrote a note. "Was he?"

"I never got to check, Monica and Alan walked in, and pushed me out of the way. Then Edward came in and saw me with the gun."

V nodded. "Okay. Your fight earlier with AJ. It was witnessed by most of the ELQ Board."

"Yes, it was."

"Alexis, has voted your proxy the last three board meetings. Why did you make sure to get to town for this meeting?"

Jax sighed. "AJ was making stupid moves, he already had ELQ on the brink of bankruptcy, and was making decisions that would bring it closer. I came to try to prevent it, and tell him, if he continued these bad judgements I would be fighting for the CEO position myself."

V wrote a note. "Okay. We aren’t going to be charging you with anything, but don’t leave town."

Jax nodded.

"Bye."

"V wait!" Jax called out, letting go of Alexis.

He turned to Alexis.

She nodded, "Sara, could we show JK the car?" She asked.

Sara nodded and turned to V. "Remember we have to track Corinthos down." She left with Alexis, to get JK, then show him the police car.

Jax grinned at V uneasily. "So how are you?"

"Fine."

"Simon?"

V laughed. "we broke up ages ago…before you and Alexis."

Jax sighed, his eyes trailing after Alexis. "That was Lexie’s idea."

V took his hand. "We are still friends Jax. We just have to get re-acquainted."

Jax smiled. "That is good know…So no Simon?"

"No." V felt herself blushing.

"Oh bet there is a guy. Your cheeks never lie."

V burst out laughing, a loud scratchy laugh, Jax realized he had missed hearing. "Nope they never lie…I am dating Alex Garcia…we aren’t too serious." Her tone dropped down. "Not sure what I want."

Jax nodded and took her hand. "I missed having you to talk too."

V smiled. "I missed you too."
