Alexis woke up with a sudden jolt. Her son grinned evilly at her and let go of her nose, "It’s morning Mom, and I am hungry."
"You know how to pour milk."
"We don’t have any milk."
Alexis groaned in sleepy irritation, "We don’t."
"No. I looked through all the shelves. And there is weird noise coming from the guest room."
Alexis nodded and stretched out. "Does it sound like an rhinoceros?"
"You got me a pet Rhino!"
"Uh?" Alexis asked putting on her glasses. "No, it is you father, he snores like a rhino."
"Dad!" JK yelled his blue eyes lighting up, Alexis dove and grabbed her son by his pajama bottoms. "Do not wake him up? He had a long night. Let’s go see what we can do for you, for breakfast?"

V felt a mouth touched her neck. She giggled as the man’s tongue tickled her, than she turned serious. "Alex! Stop that, we are at work."
Alejandro Garcia stood back up and ran his hands across V’s shoulders. "You seemed tense, and you never called me last night?" He pulled up his chair closer to her desk. "Is it Jax?"
V nodded, pursing her lips. "I just am shocked by this. And worried…"
"That he did it, or that you have to see him again." Alex asked, his own worry evident in his voice. He took her hand. "I mean, do you?"
"I don’t know." V answered looking Alex in the eye, her honestly sharp and real. "He was so special to me, I had a crush for a long time…but timing and personality differences, or what I thought were impossible…anyway Alex, he and I had a connection. I don’t know if it will still exist. I don’t know. I am sorry…" She whispered. "Can we do this later, away from prying eyes."
Alex cleared his throat. Hating the timing of this situation. Just when he finally had her considering moving forward with him, and taking their relationship a step above the serious but, fairly non-committal dating they had been doing for last eight months, life shoved in someone he knew she had never gained full closure with. Who he knew she would lay her life on the line for, do anything for? He touched her face. "Okay, Venus. Lunch at the park later."
V nodded. "I’ll meet you there, after you talk to the Quartermaine’s and I deal with Sonny and Jason. Make sure Marcus, goes with you…" She said, her eyes trailing to Taggert who was still arguing with Sean about her being sent to question Jason and Sonny about AJ’s last days.
Alex nodded. "I can handle him, the lug is really a teddy bear."
"I know." V smiled.
Alex nodded and squeezed her shoulder one last time before sitting up.
A husky female voice let out a low whistle as Garcia walked away. "He is so in love with you. So finally after two years on this police force, I get to deal with Sonny Corinthos. I love how I managed to be stuck elsewhere, when you got to go there, instead of Garcia and Taggert, or just Taggert."
V turned and smiled at her best friend and partner. "Sara, Sonny is not the legend Marcus makes him out to be….nor is he legend the street kids make him out to be. He is pain though. He won’t give us any answers, most likely only questions. But its formality, lets get going."
Sara nodded, grabbed her jacket.
~~~~~
"But I haven’t seen Dad yet?"
"He will be home later, I promise." Alexis said, zipping her son’s jacket. "I promise." She repeated. "He isn’t leaving anytime soon. Be good at school, I don’t want to hear anything more about spitballs and Christina Baldwin."
JK squirmed. "Oookay." He said as he left the house and ran up to the bus stop just as the bus arrived.
Alexis sighed, and wondered, how she ever managed to have the patience to raise a Jacks. She ran her fingers through her hair, and smiled with a weird a sense of pride and love as she found her son’s cream of wheat in it. "Lovely." She said, and started padding down the hall back to her bed room, wondering if she could squeeze in another hour of sleep.
She stopped by the door, with the loud snorting sound of Jax’s snores pouring out of it, and found herself opening the door to check on him.
He lay on the bed, sprawled out wearing only his boxers, the covers had fallen onto the floor. His mouth was gaped open, and he kept up his Rhino snore in an uneven pattern and rhythm. Alexis shook her head, and walked in the room and picked up the blanket and covered him back up with it. Gently tucking it around him…the snores stopped and his eyes opened to bore right into hers. She suddenly felt like she must look awful, in her ratty old blue bathrobe, and cream of wheat in her hair.
"You always did look to damn good in the morning." Jax whispered touching her face. "Is JK up?"
