The Global Defense Initative (GDI) is a force that was formed as the last action of the United Nations Global Defense Initiative. GDI was designed for global peace keeping. Manly GDI relies on their technological sophistication of it's weapons, superior traningn and loyalty of it's troops to end global conflicts. GDI watches over the planet from their orbital comand center, the "Philadelphia". On Philadelphia their highest comander, General Solmon resides. It is from here they cordinate all GDI activities. General Solomon graduated first in his class from West Point. He is the figure head of GDI. General Solomon claims that his archrival of those who would threaten the peace he lives to defend. General Solomon's campaign against Kane and Nod has been entrusted to commander Micheal McNeil. Commander McNeil conducts his operations from his mobil command center on Earth called, "Kodiak". Commander McNeil has been characterized as uncompromisingly loyal and is intense in every thing he does.
