If you haven't deciphered it by now, I'm going to school. Still, I've a ways to wait, so sit down, relax, and I'll kill some time . . . . .
It's been a while, hasn't it? Last you heard I was eighteen and on the outs with an old friend, correct? Well, if you must know, Pete and I are pretty much all patched up, which is really nice . . .
after all, he's got the Wolfenstein demo on his computer! Plus, to add extra sweetness to the whole deal, he's living with his dad now, so he's back to living down the block from me! It's so cool to be within reasonable walking-distance again! Yeah, short distances rule . . .
A farther distance away, Riley was still in high school. No he wasn't dumb or anything; the outdoor school's year simply ends at a different time. As for Ricky, well . . . he's not going to school at present . . . . . his super-elite acting school won't start until the spring. Oh yeah, Pete's taking a year off as well. Meantimes, he's getting by with his brilliant job at the music store in the mall (
grr, stupid ultimate dream job . . .). But yeah, more or less we're all still keeping in touch, still hanging out at places, yada yada yada . . .
Wow, this is really starting to sound like a bad teen movie ending, isn't it? Oh well . . . . .
It was about this time when some older guy came to the bus stop and asked me for the time. After telling him, the guy then proceeded to ask me what school I went to. Yeah, I know what'cher all thinking: "Ernest, don't talk to strangers!" I dunno, the guy didn't seem all that bad - he just wanted to converse. Well, as fate would have it, back in the day this old guy used to go to my school too! I then sat politely listening about the olden days from this old guy (my, I'm being rather un-PC, aren't I?). But yeah, after about fifteen to twenty minutes of this peculiar old man, the bus came and he let me go (thank God). Yeah, Corin once told me that I was too open and outgoing for my own good . . .
meh, when did she ever count, right?
Okay, so now I'm on the bus (
golly, that was an advanced line . . .). I suppose I can turn back to our special "Where Are They Now?" episode . . . hey, ya think I'll be able to do it all alphabetically without screwing up? Let's find out . . . . . oh, and you really must trust me that I'm not cheating, please . . . . .
Craig, like Pete, is also taking a year off to work, travel, and whatnot. He is currently stiff hooked up with Robyn, and they are both still going strong . . . of course, I haven't seen the boy since early September, so ya never know.
Oops, I already screwed up . . . . .
Amanda, everyone's favourite psychotic, is still around, going to the local college and working at a local car dealership. The last time I saw her was fleetingly at the infamous 22nd Street train station. Last time I actually had a relaxed conversation, well . . . yeah, early September.
Eve is also going to the local college, though I never asked what courses she was taking. As far as I know, she's still working at McPuke's down near where I live, where I saw her a couple months back. Whether she's a famous singer-songwriter by now remains to be discovered . . .
Captain Gavin of the starship . . . yeah, right. A couple weeks ago I called upon him because Corran needed a cowboy hat - but yeah, apart from that I see him on ICQ now and then and stuff. He's going to a rather prestigious art school as we speak. Oh, and I think he's hooked up with some girl now, I think, I dunno . . . . .
The bus came to a stop and people started filing out; I snapped back into reality and realised we were at the train station. I then went to the train - nothing interesting happened along the way, honest. It was just myself walking and stuff . . . well, at least until the train arrived, at which point I got on, found an empty seat (yay) and sat down. Really, this trip was gonna take a while . . . might as well relax . . . . .
Who am I on now? Oh yeah . . .
Over the summer Jason enlisted and went for basic training. Recently he was sent to the Middle East - in the line of duty, he was hit and killed . . . . . . . well, okay that was a blatant lie. Hey, in the movies someone is always noted as having died in these reflection things - I wanted to do it too! But yeah, Jason goes to the college, alive and well. He DID go to basic, but for the Canadian Army Reserves, and well, if Manitoba can be considered mid-eastern, well . . . . . I haven't seen the guy since September.
Meg suddenly stopped wanting to be the next Martha Stewart and is now at the college striving to become a history teacher. I haven't seen her since that last big get-together in September either. Well, whenever I talk to her again (online?), I'm sure I'll hear that everything is "
SO good!"
Hmm, train ride wasn't so long after all . . . . . well, the bus ride will be . . . friggin' forty-some minutes (if I'm lucky) . . . . . It was late morning so the bust stop wasn't crowded - once again, I had a seat . . . . .
Robyn, the flustery one, is going to the college like everyone else. I also haven't seen or heard from her since September, which is kinda sad because really, well . . . I have never seen anyone as flustery as her . . . ever.
Tina got an unconditional acceptance into the same school I had to fight to get into, but she still opted to go in the spring. In the meantime she's travelling. She's doing a lot of travelling. Last I heard she was in the Maritime Provinces, proudly showing off her "puppy-tracks" tattoo.
Tony, going to (guess where) the college, has not been seen by me since (guess when) September. When I talked to him online last, he was still chilling with this girl who's actually a friend of Corran's. The whole thing's kinda funny, really . . . I mean that he has a girlfriend. I mean, let's face it, he & I always kinda indiscriminately had this rivalry throughout high school - it was kinda sucky. I don't think we've ever not awkwardly spoken to each other since . . . still, we're all managing and stuff, so we're happy . . . probably . . . . .
Tracy is a funny story. I actually see her on a regular basis; we have a Psychology together! It was so cool to run into each other, since now I have my old-bud every-other-day . . . uh, I think I'll leave that term out of circulation . . . but yeah, she makes mornings kinda fun ('specially since Psyc. suddenly got really boring [
who knew?]).
And I do believe that is every . . . . . oh wait, Jody . . . oops (
aw, if she finds out I forgot her she's gonna hurt me . . .). Yeah, she's going to that hardcore technical institute now and us happily struggling through everything. I still see her now and then, mostly through Pete, which is cool. Ya know, I don't think I've ever said this in all the years I've been recording these gripes, but ya know what? These two really do look good together. I mean, the complementation (cool that's a real word!) is perfect; she has someone to keep in check while he has someone to learn about boundaries . . . alright, that's a bad example, but you know what I mean . . .
Okay, NOW this is sounding like a bad teen movie ending!
As for me, I just barely got into university with my marks, and therefore have gone into the Arts. So far I mostly study courses that will teach me to write, since frankly I suck at that (
but you already knew that, right?). Due to a honkin' integrated course thing, I have numerically fewer courses than most, and therefore have a smaller workload than most (which Corin just ABSOLUTELY hates about me [
mwa hah hah . . .]). But yeah, I'm having fun, save the multiple essays I must write all the time . . . oh well . . . . .
What, you guys want to hear about Corin?
Whyyyyyyyyy? Well, if you MUST know, she's in some hardcore science thing and is always all complaining about school and stuff (which makes me laugh inside sometimes [really, I'm too scared to laugh out loud]). I see her at school now and then and, uh . . . yeah . . . . . . . I'm not allowed to leave with just that, am I? Fine . . . . .
Over the summer Corin and I got together a few times to walk through playgrounds, see some fairs, or watch Jackie Chan movies. Incidentally, she also jumped on my foot, put feminine accessories in my hair, and made me carry a floral-patterned shopping bag around in the mall. Oh yeah, and even after school started she somehow managed to sucker punch me in the lip! Yes, frankly her antics have left me with many a sleepless night . . . but yeah, lotsa school, not lotsa spare time . . . durnit . . . . .
Oh, just so you know, she's not winning. I've ambushed her many a time upon her exit from her Biology class (khee hee hee). But yeah, as far as I know everyone's having fun . . . . .
Back to real-time, the bus had arrived at the campus - totally didn't see it coming . . . I blame level 2 sleep and its Beta waves (hey, I just applied Psyc.). I then bought my coffee - as usual - and headed to my building . . . I think I've had enough time reminiscing. I gotta go live and learn a little more.
