The Orangeburg Volunteer Fire Department is an all volunteer fire department based out of Rockland County, New York.
We respond to over 300 fire/rescue alarms each year. We are in need of volunteers and we need your help.

Q:What is the age to join your department?

A:The age to join our department is a minimum of 16 years.

Q:What are the requirements for your department?

A:Each member must annually respond to 10% of fire calls, attend at least 20 drills and attend at least 2 monthly Association meetings. All new members must pass a one(1) year probationary period in which they will be required to complete a Basic Fire Fighter class at the Rockland County Fire Training Center.

Q:Is there any training involved?

A:Yes,the Rockland County Fire Training Center will provide firematic training at no cost. Our department will also provide a wide varitey of training exercises.

Q:Is there a physical exam?

A:Yes, a physical examination is required before admission into the department. The exam will be provided to you at no cost.

Q:What are the benefits?

A:As a member of the department you will receive a complete set of turnout gear, all nessecary training, a pension plan and lending a helping hand to your community.

Q:How do I join?

A:To join the department you must live or work in Orangeburg or in any of the local hamlets. Stop by any Monday night at the Dutch Hill firehouse(located on 61 Dutch Hill Road off of Orangeburg Rd.)between 7:00PM and 9:00PM to pick up an application.
