I arrived with my dad, the TD, and Tony and noticed we had 10 players, not too bad, not too great. I was still playing the same ISB dark deck albeit with a few minor mods, and an old skool Revo deck that was designed solely based on the meta-game for Syracuse. I knew that if I had misjudged the meta I would be in trouble. I decided to let Tony use my Britney box for good luck, while I simply used mental pics, no not indecent pics you pervert ;oP , of another beautiful female. Well, on to the games.
Game 1: My LS vs Ben Patterson’s DS Endor Ops.
I get things set up pretty quickly, got out my Nudj’s and Revo’d his bunker, I also got down a 2/0 location and jumped one of his Biker Scouts early with Obi-Wan and put out Civil Disorder. He got out some more sites and dropped some stuff there but I laid a smackdown with my mains and quickly took control of Endor. Between Civil Disorder and my sabers I killed him pretty quick. Full win by 37ish.Highlights: Lockdown in action.
Lowlights: It wasn’t a close game.
Game 2: My DS vs Steve Kurilovitch’s HBX
This deck has a bunch of X-wings and is the deck that handed my ISB space deck it’s first loss before Endor so I was looking for vengeance. I started SP and he started Rebel fleet. I decided to play it safe and saved up a while, and used Reactor Terminal with my killer activation to cycle through my deck. I let him hit me for some drains of 1 and bided my time. Eventually he popped down the falcon with the Cap’n and an X-wing, perfect. I dropped Lat Damage on the Falcon, Monnoked and got some cards, he had no Houjix’s. I dropped Zuckuss in MH, D*AS, a Dreadnaught and some more and battled. He had to lose everything plus 17. That was about all I needed to take control of the board, make his X-wings run while continually jumping them. Full win by 20ish.Highlights: HBX is no match for ISB Space.
Lowlights:None.
Game 3: My LS vs. Jeff Cisz’s DS Hoth deck.
Jeff beat me last tourney so needless to say I was looking for a rematch. I started the normal Y4 starting and he started with the Hoth system and Hoth War Room. I got out my Nudj’s but he played smart and got out vader and Tarkin and altered my Traffic Control, Doh!, where’s a Sense!? I drew a bunch of cards to get what I needed and let Boushh block the drains while I was setting up. He dropped the Wampa cave but I Revo'd it. I knew I was in trouble because of my huge hand but thought I could still pull it out. I dropped a huge beatdown squad on Vader, Tarkin, and Bane but had no reserve deck for destinies so I let him go. He tried to Elsi but I sensed, he altered, I sensed. He ran to the Wampa Cave and I chased him while draining with my sabers for a while. Finally he got an Elis off and went to the Obi’s hut I had put down. I took control of the Hoth System and let it become a drain race because the cards in my hand were worthless and I knew I would win. I was draining for 5 to his 3, which became 0 when I revo’d the Hut. Full win by 20.Highlights: Didn’t revo die at the hands of CTR? ;o)
Lowlights: None.
Game 4: My DS vs Tony Vigliotti’s HBX/kessel Run deck.
This was basically a recap of my game against Steve. I let him deploy and get some drains in, waited for the falcon with Capn and a RFC to move over, then I Monnoked, no Houjix, and layeth the smacketh down! He had to lose 11 or so, the I chased him around, probed his system and Monnoked him for some more cards. I also used his Draw Their Fire for retrieval. Full win by 26?Highlights: Hmmm, beating Tony is always good.
Lowlights: Beating up the Falcon, I love the falcon! ;o)
Game 5: My DS vs Bill Wallace’s Bothawuii Ops deck.
I started ABCTTU. I got some systems and PoTF’s down, he got down some ops, mains and Worrt, evil creature! I went through my deck to get 3 ISB agents and 5-D6 and used them to shut down his deck. He got down an Ithorian for a drain of 1 but I was getting 3 drains of 1 in a turn. Finally he went after Bossk In Bus with Han and the Falcon and on my turn I dropped Lat Damage, Devastator and D*AS on him and made him lose a bunch. From there I lost Chall to his fd and retrieved him ever turn while I got him for 3 a turn. Full win by 30?
Highlights: Apparently this deck can still handle ops.
Lowlights: How many times must the Falcon die?
Game 6: My LS vs Mike Alt’s HDADTJ Beatdown
He started BFHI. I got out my Nudj’s and Revo’d the Meditation Chamber. He got out Bubo and ate my Nudj’s. I went down with Masta Luke and a saber on Yavin and started draining. Then I got Ori on the Exec and cancelled Visage as well as setting up another fd. He got out Kiffex and a ship for a drain of 2. It was my drain of 4 to his of 2 for a while then he set up a drain of 3 on tat with Vader, Tarkin, Mara, and PoTF. I had beefed up Y4 and had down some effects like Mantellian Savrip. He Elis’ the crew and beats up Ori but Savrip handles it. Then I put the Spiral and Gold Leader at Kiffex and beat up his ship. He decides to drain on Executor for 2, but it’s too little too late. Full win by 12ish. Whew, close.Highlights: Beating a deck I thought I would lose to.
Lowlights: I noticed some cards I should have in my deck that I didn’t.
I ended first with 12(+160), Tony was second with 10 (+95), and Joe Samuels got 3rd. Apparently my Britney box worked for Tony, and my method worked even better for me than Britney used to! Anyway, I got 13 packs of Reflections, I’ll elaborate more tomorrow on that.
