Game 1: My LS vs Joe Samuels Hoth Occupation with Troopers

I started with the Audience Chamber and Jawa Camp, he started with the Hoth and Defensive Perimeter.I got a fairly quick start thanks to Aureal Schous (or something like that), getting down a swarm of Jawas to the Cantina. He paid in kind by getting down some troopers, sites and PoTF on Hoth. I decided I might as well battle so I nabrun'd my guys to beat on his troopers. He took a little damage and on his turn came down with more troopers, armed with blasters, battled, played Trooper Assault, and Blast Points and basically cleared the site. I started running away and deployed a few more Jawas on Tatooine to drain. I eventually got down my representatives and a her of Jawa Siestas which I used with Noble Sacrifice to retrieve a good deal. From here we mostly drained each other. He put down Rebel base Occ and Tyrant on Hoth but my Red Leader in Red 1 took out both of those, and my retrieval kept me alive long enough to drain him out. Full win by 12.

Highlights: Troopers and Blasters vs Jawas. If that's not fun I don't know what is.

Lowlights: Jawas getting slapped around. :o(

Game 2: My DS vs. Josh Paterniti's Bothan Madness deck.

I started with Jabba's Palace and the Cantina. He started with the Holo-Gameboard and Yarna. I knew what to expect and what I had to do. I got a lightning fast start thanks to Jabba and Scum and Villiany. I was draining for 3 by turn 3. I got out some fd+1 sites and dropped ETE on one of them to boost my drains. He got down a PoaS at the GameBoard and one on the table. Then he dropped a bunch of spies and undercovers. I decided it was time to unleash Bubo and let him munch on some spies. Josh countered with an EPP Obi to kill Bubo. I retrieved Bubo on my next turn, thanx to S&V, and killed of Obi. My Den of Thieves stopped his drain at the Game Board. He dropped down Kessel and RlinR1, which I killed with Bossk in Bus. I got down Bubo again and started racking up the drains. He killed of Bubo again, this time with Luke, but it was already too late. Full win by 22

Highlights: Bubo munch, yum.

Lowlights: Bothans…bad!

Game 3 My LS vs Chad Harps HDADTJ

I started the usual and he started with the HD stuff and PoTF on the Med Chamber. This was a lesson in futility. I dropped down a first turn Jawa and tried to Nabrun him to the Holotheatre to cancel Visage, but he played Those Rebels Won't Escape Us. Then he got down Coruscant, and Vader at the Med Chamber and flipped. Next turn he Surprised the Presence to Coruscant and deployed Devastator there. I battled the Devastator with GlinG1 but thanks to the Med Chamber text he got destiny and drew a 6! I managed to kill off Devestator which was then replaced with Thunderflare next turn. I got down Bargaining Table and he monnoked. I had 6 cards, 2 Noble Sac's and 2 Jawa's along with some other dumb cards. I had already lost another Noble Sac to Visage so I was out of them now. I didn't get down enough Jawa's for Wind Chimes and couldn't find a Nabrun so I just sat on Tatooine and drained for 1. He got down Kashyyk with Bossk in Bus, I was forced to counter with RlinR1, I was trying to find a Landing Claw but couldn't. He lost the Bus, I lost RL and 4 more, stupid 2 destiny. He eventually brought Vader over to Tatooine but lost him to thanks to to the power of the Jawas. He was quickly replaced with another Vader and Tarkin though, and my Jawa's couldn't keep up. Then he just drained me out. Full loss by 14?

Highlights: Jawa's killing off a few Vaders.

Lowlights: Bad luck

Game 4: My DS vs Chris Ruddy's Train, Beatdown and Kessel Run.

In this game Chris probably felt like I did last time. I got down Broken Concentration early and he didn't finish JT1 until 2 turns from the end. Meanwhile my Jawa's got massive drains going. He set up in space but Executor and 2 DSSD's seriously hurt him, then I got down Secret Plans so he didn't have enough force to finish Kessel Run. He had just enough cards but I used Broken Conc. To make him 1 card short. He eventually subsided to the drains. Full win by 20ish.

Highlights: Lightning fast Jawas!

Lowlights: Knowing if I hadn't gotten out those 2 effects I probably would have lost.

Game 5: My DS vs Chad Harps HBX.

Quite an odd game. We both drained a lot, I got down Sec Precautions and let Executor block bog drains, however I couldn't make it to his Hidden Base. He cancelled about 3 drains a turn, but 2 more usually snuck through. I retrieved a lot thanks to Abyssin Ornament and First Strike and outdrained him. Full win by 12?

Highlights: The Jawa's are invincible! ;o)

Lowlights: Drain race.

Game 6: My LS vs Steve Kurilovitch's HDADTJ. He got down DLOTS and crew on Tatooine and Sensed/Altered a lot of my stuff. I got Tessek at the AC, with Uh Oh and Bo Shuda, and tried to rack up drains but was slowed by Undercover Spies. Vader had his saber and was draining for 3 a turn, as was I however Visage swung the game in his favor. He had down IAO so I couldn't Nabrun to get rid of Visage, and his Secret Plans basically shut down my retrieval. Full loss by 14?

Highlights: Finally getting Bo Shuda/Tessek to work.

Lowlights: None really, a good game, just wish I had packed some Transmission Terminated's.

So I ended 4-2 and came in 2nd place. My rating will drop like a rock but that's ok, I'm pretty pleased considering the decks I was using. Well that's all for now, tune in next time when I tell you how the Jawa's big buddies Ben and Vader fared at the next tourney ;o)
