Friends and Chosen Family
I'd like to introduce you to some wonderful people. I know some from online and some face-to-face, and each of them has touched my life. Please take a moment and get to know these people who mean a lot to me.
THE COLLEGE CREW

I miss you all.
Tony's World
Tony is one of the finest people I have ever known, and one of my dearest friends. His wonderful homepage includes some of his writings, links, and information on his published book, A Rock and a Hard Place.
The Mind Unraveling
This is a remarkably profound and meaningful page by one of the kids I met at the camp where I worked, and I hope to see it continue to grow. It's too bad he lives in the armpit state, though. ;-)
Ben's Safe Place
I invite you to get to know someone who has become incredibly special to me . . . my friend and "little bro" Benjamin. Includes his personal story of hope. In German and English.
Alison's Homepage
Homepage of one of my best friends from college. It badly needs to be updated, but it's still a fun place to visit.
Kirisk's Site
A beautiful, expressive website, created by my dear friend and "big bro", Steven. It's all in German, but he promises there will be an English translation someday. ;)
Lisa's Homepage
A positive place on the net. Lisa met my family as a fan of the television show my dad works on, and since then it has been a pleasure having her as part of my life. Her pages are full of warmth.
Christian's Homepage
Homepage of Christian, or as I call him, Chrisbug. :-) He met my family as a fan of my dad's (my dad's on a popular television show), and since then I have always been delighted to talk to him online from time to time. He's a bright, cheerful young man, and a joy to know.
FRIENDS WITHOUT HOMEPAGES
(but with places in my heart)
Calvin

Calvin, the Dragon Slayer, my beloved friend . . . we met in the fall of freshman year living in the same dorm, and have been wonderful friends ever since. Calvin is a kind-hearted, intelligent, and funny person who probably knows me better than anyone else. Staying up all night talking about the meaning of life . . . playing Smelly Pants (it's a card game!) at random times during the day . . . hugging each other whenever we need to . . . and me eating all of your walnuts, lol . . . I will miss you so much, Calvin.
Gabrielle
We met at summer camp when we were 15. She's from Quebec, Canada, she didn't speak any English, her parents sent her to an American to learn how to, and I, being the only person there who spoke French, helped her out a lot. We are great friends, and we make sure to visit at least once a year (I have spent the last two New Years' in Quebec). Gabrielle, je ne peux pas te dire comment je suis contente qu'on a reste des amies. Je t'aime beaucoup et je serais toujours la pour toi. Tu auras toujours une amie en moi.
Lauren
Lauren is my good friend and confidante. Whenever we get together, we usually end up laughing. She is the one who also seems to be there for me when something goes wrong . . . like when I had the horrible toenail incident . .. and when I was very sick with that crazy throat thing, whatever it was . . . she's the one who will help me get around, wait with me at the health center, whatever I need. And that's a true friend.
Kara
Did you ever have a friend who was just so nice, so kind, so affectionate, and so pleasant to be with that you wondered what you ever did before them? That's Kara for you.
Mark
Mark . . . what will I ever do without you and your frymobile? Who will sing Sacred Harp with me? You're da man, Mark. ;) I'll miss you an awful lot.
Hillary
Hillary, who graduated last year and is now down in Texas working toward a PhD in neuroscience on her way to becoming an astronaut (really) is one of the best friends I have ever had. I can tell her anything . . . we can joke about anything . . . I feel completely comfortable around her . . . those are the kind of friends you keep, even when they move to Texas.
