A Low Pressure system moved just inland up the coast from Wednesday, March 27th to Saturday, March 30th. Every where there was heavy rain. In the Southeast, severe thunderstorms, and a few tornadoes occurred. Thursday, March 29th, was cloudy with a threat of rain all day. Forecast was for light rain to begin around dark. After midnight, it would get heavy at times, right through most of Friday morning, and end as showers in the afternoon. 2-3 inches of rain was expected. While the rain started a little later than forecast, the amount was pretty much on the money. Light rain started falling around 8 PM. By midnight, .20 inches had fallen. Then the rain picked up, and continued, heavy at times, until noon, Friday, March 30th. There were a few light showers during the early afternoon, then just cloudy. Total rainfall was 2.76 inches. A real wet storm.
