Valentine Mobile

Give kids red and white paper to cut out several
hearts. They can decorate them with
glitter, paper lace, or colored glue. Kids can add
photos of themselves or the family to fit into the
hearts and glue down. Other decorations can be ribbon,
buttons, fabric trimmings. After the
hearts dry, punch a small hole in the top and tie a
piece of ribbon through it. Now kids can mount
the heart on a coat hanger for a special
Valentine mobile.

Valentine Potato Prints

Cut a raw potato in half. Kids can carve out a heart
shape in the potato halves and paint one
side red and one side white. On contrasting paper,
they can print hearts, add a simple greeting, and mail
the card to grandparents and friends. Kids
may need help cutting the potato.

Valentine Cards

Children can make a very special Valentine card by
collecting white, red, and pink construction
paper, stickers, paper lace doilies,
glitter, markers, paint and anything else
that can be glued down. Kids can use their
imaginations to cut out hearts, paint or
draw on folded paper of any size. They add a verse
inside the card, sign it and send to a friend.
