luck with these mobiles

Materials Needed

How to Make It
Cut the paper plate in half. There are two ways
to make the rainbow, you can either paint both
sides of 1/2 of a plate, or you can paint the
bottom side of 2 half-plate pieces, and then
staple or glue them together to make more of a
3-D rainbow.
Paint a rainbow on 1/2 of the paper plate. Make
sure to cover the whole plate with color. Let
dry. Paint the other side, too. Let dry again.
(this can also be done with markers or crayons)
Draw a leprechaun and pot of gold on precut
rectangles of heavy paper, or print the patterns
that follow. If you're using the printout
pattern, when they are done coloring, fold it in
half along the center line and glue the two sides
together. You can tuck the yarn for hanging in
while gluing, there is a small mark on the
printout at the top center of the picture to show
you where the yarn goes.

Pot of Gold for PC

Print & Color

If you haven't attached the yarn yet, attach it
to the top center of the leprechaun and gold
pictures, and then hang them on the two ends of
the rainbow. Attach another yarn to the top
center of the rainbow to hang.
Tip: the better the paper plate you use, the
nicer this project will come out. The thick
cardboard-like plates might require an adult
to use a razor blade to cut them - be careful
to do this away from the kids!
Variations Make a rainbow plate and hang shamrocks
from it instead of the leprechaun and pot of gold.
Or hang rainbow colored streamers (they will have
to overlap) or ribbons for a year-round rainbow.
