I will be on my way tonight at 5:30 to see the greatest Rock band of all time .. DEF LEPPARD.. at Darien Lake Performing Arts Center. This is a clip from my Local D&C. Randy Castillo: That was ’87.
CC: Oh yeh, you weren’t with Ozzy until later of course.
RC: Def Leppard were on it ‘cause I remember it was Rick Allen’s return
after losing his arm. So yeh that was pretty special man. I was friends
with Rick before and he was very cool. For him to pull through like that, I
just think that was f*cking amazing. Nothing short of a miracle. That
Castle Donington experience was like unbelievable. I’m pinching myself
onstage. I’m with Ozzy and there’s like a 100,000 crazy leather jacketed
Brits man, moving in one huge… more like a heartbeat all at once. Jumping
up and down. "

"It's a darn shame that the venerable hard-rock band's current collection, 'Euphoria' hasn't garnered more support. It's such a fun project, jam packed with hook-laden gems. '21st Centruy Sha-La-La-La Girl' is among the stronger cuts on the album, thanks in large part to it's playfully sexy lyrics and an arena-ready chorus that just makes you grin from ear to ear. The band plows through the track with maximum energy, underlining front man Joe Elliott's trademark vocal swagger with layers of harmonies and razorsharp guitarwork. Ok, so nothing about this single fits the narrow molds from which rock and top 40 radio are currently cast. But it's certainly as infectious (if not more so) as much of what programers are shoving down listener's throats at the moment. C'mon folks, give it a try. Well, it's only halfway through the year, but we are confident that this wins
the award for "Most Unlikely Tour Package Of The Year." Power rock
punkers the Unband have scored the opening slot on the first leg of the Def
Leppard U.S. tour!!!! For those of you who haven't heard the up and
coming TVT act, they sound kinda like Motorhead meets Nashville Pussy
and are sure to scare the sh*t of he pop-metal Def lep fans. Should make
for a hilarious and rockin' tour!!! The Unband have toured with othe rmetal
acts lately as well, including Dio, Motorhead, Dokken, Great White, Anthrax
and Jackyl. The Unband's set will feature a six-foot, inflatable, mechanical
hand that can gesture at the crowd, including such classic moves as "the
finger," "metal horns," and "the peace sign." The group is touring in support
of its debut album, Retarder, which was released March 7 on TVT
Records.
