Current Song: Queens of the Stone Age - "You Think I Ain't Worth a Dollar but I Feel Like A Millionaire"

Website that has nothing to do with running: oddtodd.com

So this is my first try at this. I was going to come up with some cutesy little title for this like "From the finish line" or "View from the top of the hill" or something like that but everyone calls their commentaries something like those and who really cares anyway. Well here are some random things that are on my mind right now.

-A big thumbs up to Shenendehowa, Saratoga, Columbia, and Averill Park for their showings at The Great American XC Race. Though some of the runners didn't feel the performed well I think that they all represented Section 2 in a big way. I mean, how many other areas can say that they had four different schools at The Great American? Plus, running against those big dogs can only help you guys when we get to the end of the season.

-The toughest job in the world goes to Dan Doherty who does the Girls' state rankings. Now he knows that in the Class A rankings that we have eight of the top teams but he still has to try to make these rankings look good for the rest of the state. He actually admitted to me that some of the Section 2 school are under ranked but you can't really blame him. I know if I was from another section and just saw Section 2 all over the place that I would be a little annoyed. As it is, I think he did a pretty good job. Warwick was tough at The Great American and should've been in the Race of Champions. I'm not sure about Liverpool but time will tell.

-Looks like everyone is enjoying the new message board. Let's try to stay civilized on it though. Most of you normal posters should know my likes and dislikes. One of my biggest peeves is the use of the words "gay" and "fag". They seem to be two words that your generation likes to use in a derogatory fashion and I'm one that thinks it should stop and it will stop on this site. I know quite a few homosexuals, it's tough not to in this day and age. Some are very nice people and there are some that are total jerks. It doesn't have anything to do with the sexual preference. So calling someone those words because you don't like them or disagree with their thoughts is totally off base. I'm not going to sit here and get in a debate about it, just so you know, if I see the words used then the post won't be up for long.

-I hope everyone is doing well so far. October begins tomorrow so it's about a month until Sectionals. Good luck to everyone and if you see me at Grout (if you even know what I look like) come up and say hi. I don't bite....often.
