Section 2 Top 25 Boys Cross Country Teams

1 Saratoga Springs A Suburban Lose top two but still solid with Chris Dore and Sean Curran...Top 5 runs 15:45-17:18...Still will be one of top teams in the section.
2 Bethlehem A Suburban Hit hard losing their top three but still has a solid jv team team to step up this season...top 5 spread of 16:32-17:26.
3 Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake B Suburban Hit real hard by graduation, losing 5 out of 7 but always has a strong jv to step up...Can still challenge for Class B title.
4 Guilderland A Suburban Lose top 3 and 5 out of 7 so it could be a rebuilding year, though G'land always seems to have enough to be competitive.
5 Shaker A Suburban Looks solid returning their top 4 lead by Justin Corelli and Jared Paul...Returning top 5 ran 15:35-17:11...One of the favorites for the Class A title.
6 Queensbury B Foothills Lose their top 2 but return everyone else...Will be one of the favorites for the Class B title again...Top 5 run tight pack of 16:42-17:21.
7 Shenendehowa A Suburban Will be lead by mostly Sophs with Scott Mindel and Ryan Gaedje...Could be a darkhorse but probably another year away...Top 5 spread of 16:14-17:35.
8 Albany Academy B Colonial Lead by Class B Favorite, Kevin Catlett but loses the 2-4 runners...Needs some depth to stay competitive in Class B's.
9 Scotia-Glenville B Foothills Lead by Tyler and Todd Raymond, only loses their 4th runner....Will challenge Queensbury for Class B title...Top 5 spread of 15:44-18:02.
10 Averill Park B Suburban Lose top runner, Tyson Evensen but return a good bunch of underclassmen lead by Jesse Belden...Top 5 spread of 16:44-18:41. 
11 Catskill C Patroon Hit hard losing their 2-6 runners but return Class C champ, Chris Stanzione...Top 5 spread of 15:33-19:27...Three year Class C reign may be over.
12 Corinth D Wasaren Class D champs return 4 out of 7 lead by Rob and Matt Swinton...Need more bodies on the team to stay in contention.
13 Amsterdam A Big 10 Return 5 out of 7 lead by Jaime Julia...5 man spread of 15:37-19:19...Favored to repeat in Big 10 but needs improvement to move up in Class A.
14 Mayfield D Tri-Valley Lead by Class D champ Nick Munson and Greg Ernst...Return 4 out of 7 but need a 4th and 5th runner to step up badly. 5 man spread of 16:15-20:51 hurts them.
15 Colonie A Suburban Return top 6 runners lead by Kyle Audi...5 man spread of 16:38-17:56...Should improve from last year but times need to improve to be competitive in Class A.
16 Columbia A Suburban Returns entire team lead by solid top 2 of Dave Mink and Adam Harding..Rest of team need to step up if they want to improve....5 man spread of 15:56-18:33..
17 Niskayuna A Suburban Should definately improve, losing only their 2nd runner and returning one from injury...Young team showed promise with 5 man spread of 16:42-18:20.
18 Ichabod Crane B Patroon Hit hard by graduation losing 5 out of 7...Looks to be a rebuilding year with 5 man spread of 18:15-20:11. Has a couple of promising 8th graders moving up.
19 Galway D Tri-Valley Lose top 2 but return everyone else. Always competitive in Class D because of their depth...5 man spread of 17:35-18:11 will keep them challenging for Class D's.
20 Berne-Knox-Westerlo D Tri-Valley Could be a Class D favorite returning 5 of 7, lead by Tom DeRusso and Dan Hoffman...5 man spread of 17:18-18:08 looks good if they can keep that.
21 Chatham C Patroon Return top 7 lead by Sean French and Nick Sarro...Solid top 3 but needs the rest of the team to improve to challenge for Class C...5 man spread of 16:12-19:07.
22 Fort Plain D Tri-Valley Returns everyone and could challenge for Class D...5 man spread of 16:47-18:47 lead by John Hoffman...Younger runners need to step up to win Class D's.
23 Schuylerville C Wasaren Only had 6 runner but return them all lead by Isaiah Shaw...5 man spread of 16:14-18:51...Could be a Class C favorite, especially if 4th and 5th times improve.
24 Schenectady A Big 10 Only lose 4th runner and return good young team, may be a year away though...5 man spread of 17:13-18:55...Should challenge for Big 10 title.
25 Greenville C Tri-Valley Lose top runner Garry O'Halloran but return rest of top 7...5 man spread of 17:01-19:34...If 4th and 5th improves, could challenge for Class C title.
 

Honorable Mentions:

   26. Fonda-Fultonville - Lose solid top 2 but return everyone else.

    27.Johnstown - Only return 2 runners...Need to rebuild.

    28.Cobleskill-Richmondville - Return 6 of 7...Early favorite for Colonial Council title.

    29.LaSalle - Always has good enough depth to stay competitive in Big 10

    30.Troy - Return everyone but number one...Could challenge in Big 10.
