This Was Not Meant To Be

I've been loving you all this time -- now I'm in fear

You must make your stand and tell me how you feel

I'm wondering for the last time about you and me

'cause it seems darling...this was not meant to be

You've given me enough reasons to believe it's true

that all meaning in the world is only about me and you

but you push me aside each time I'm in your heart

so I have nothing else to do but to make a new start

Something tells me deep inside to still believe in fate

but the real world between our eyes tells me it's too late

so now I'm hoping that you as my friend will also see

that after all I've wished...this was not meant to be

Down the road I'll ask myself how come I didn't say

that all this time I've been loving you more each day

I'll always wonder if you ever felt for me the same

or maybe I did good by not being a part of your game

If I can do this right, you will always be my friend

and to our hugs and kisses I will now put an end

you will also understand...this was not meant to be

The day is almost over and it's time to let you go

I'm sure I'll dream of you though you will never know

my life will turn away from yours starting tomorrow

and no words will ever reveal to you my real sorrow

I'm feeling tired and my eyes keep falling asleep

I'm pulling out all the feelings that hurt me down deep

only God will know that I'll be praying to believe
