6:20 AM I have a couple extra minutes this morning; I'm not sure why. I'm probably forgetting something very important. By-the-way, Happy Birthday, Lyra!

I Can Smell the Tomatoes

It's snowing again. It's the backside of the big storm that is hitting the east coast. Last night it was zero at our house. Hey! It's March. What's going on?

I cleaned off the top shelf of my sewing stuff in this glory room. This weekend I will plant my 13 varieties of tomatoes and 4 varieties of peppers. I know, I know, my garden isn't that big. But I have to try all these new varieties, and I have to grow my little yellow pear tomatoes. When I ordered new seeds from Totally Tomatoes, they sent me 5 packets of seeds, free, that they are testing. If they only knew how little my garden is! They have such wonderful names, these tiny seeds: Fond Red Mini Hybrid; Sunny Goliath; Homeweet Hybrid; Red Pear; Yellow Pear; SunSugar Hybrid; Glacier; Manitoba; Siberia; Rutgers Improved (how did that get in there?). The peppers are Lido Lamuyo (a free packet), Giant Marconi Hybrid Yankee Bell, and Gourmet Rainbow Mix. Let's see, if I plant even three plants of each variety...where, oh where, will I put my 14 different kinds of lettuce, 2 broccoli, 4 carrots, three cabbages? Plus parsley, cilantro, nastursiums (5 varieties), calendulas (2 varieties), marigolds (3 varieties), zinnias...

I can't wait to try!
