6:11 AM My knee is acting up this a.m., so I'm sitting at the computer instead of walking.
A New Point of View

I got my new glasses yesterday. They are very modish; the smaller frames, you know. Not the little round ones (they don't look so good on little, round people), but smaller than my old ones and much lighter.

However, they are also quite a bit stronger. This is fine for distance, and I'm glad to be able again to see that trees have leaves and aren't just the big blotches of color that you find in a child's painting. But for close-up...especially this computer...it's another story.

Looking through the bottom of the bifocal, my screen is misshapen. Honestly! It's wider at the top than at the bottom. Strange sight. If I look through the top of the bifocal, everything is blurry. I have to take the glasses off for the screen to be normal, and then my eyes get fuzzy.

No, don't suggest TRI-focals! In the first place, they wouldn't fit on these small lenses. And I just can't face the idea of three distances on my glasses.

So for now, my glasses come off and on, until I can get used to the funny shape of the monitor. The good little angel on my right shoulder says, "Be grateful you can see at all, sister." And the bad angel on my left says, "Shut up!".

It will be an interesting day at work. I have a lot of writing to do on the computer. I hope the angels let me work in peace and don't carry on while I'm trying to compose my thoughts.
