Chapter 10

"I had to wake up to do dumbass radio interviews!" AJ moaned rubbing his stomach.

"I know how you feel," Kevin snarled.

Brian gave a weak grin. "Kevin, are you sure you're not getting sick?"

"No, Bri, I am perfectly fine-just tired. Face it you lost thirty bucks."

"Figures," he pouted resting against the couch cushions.

Nick flipped on the television. "Anybody wanna' watch Cinderella?"

"Not unless it's a female stripper's stage name," AJ stated.

Kevin massaged his brow. "Nick, we have already seen that damn thing two or three times."

"I haven't seen it at all. I was always doing homework."

"Kev, let him watch it, there's nothing better to do," Brian suggested.

He sighed. "Okay, put it in."

AJ shivered. "Kevin, could you hand me a blanket? I'm freezing."

"Freezing?" Brian repeated. "It's hot in here."

Kevin handed AJ his blankie. "Right now I really pity anything you two put your mothers through."

"Where's Howie?" Brian asked taking off his sweatshirt.

His cousin shrugged. "I dunno. But I do know you can't sit around here without a shirt."

"Why not?"

"It's freezing outside and you'll make yourself worse. Now, go put on a t-shirt or something."

"Will you bring it to me?"

"Why?"

"Because I'm sick and you're not."

"As you wish."

"Dude, you've been watching way too much of 'The Princess Bride'," AJ laughed.

Kevin groaned. "If you two don't stop torturing me you're going to feel worse than any flu could do."

"Whatever, old man." AJ coughed. "Hey, where's Howie?"

Nick continued to stare at the television screen. "He said he didn't feel well after the interviews and tutoring so he went into the bedroom and laid down."

"And you didn't tell me?"

"He just said he wanted to try to get some sleep. It's not as if the world was going to end. Besides, he said it while you guys were listening to cds. If you had been paying attention you would already know."

Kevin returned. "Did I just hear Nick being logical?"

Brian lifted the shirt over his head. "Yep. Maybe you should get a thermometer."

"Not a bad idea. For you two, anyway."

AJ gave way to a rough cough. "Not again. You do this about six times a day."

"And with good reason. And I want the two of you to try some more hot tea."

"We're screwed," AJ grumbled. "With Howie sick we've got Kevin and Nick as the only healthy people left to take care of us."

Brian set up. "You know suddenly I'm feeling better."

"Lay down. I'll bring your tea."

"Yes, Superman...."
