1996 Volkswagen Golf III GL

The Golf was born in 1974, though it was known in America as the Rabbit until 1983. Near 20 million Golfs have been built since its debut. The original Golf (Rabbit) lasted from 1974 to 1983, when the Golf first arrived across the pond. Then in 1992 the Golf III came out in Europe, and 2 years later in the US.

The Heart

This is the original 2.0 liter engine VW made for the Golf/Jetta; newer versions are found there today as well as in the Beetle. Producing 115 horsepower, it will propell you to 60 miles per hour in under 10 seconds.

Interior

The inside is cozy and comfortable. The 5-speed manual transmission shifts smoothly and quickly. The sound sysytem preforms nicely, and the 8 speakers provide quality sound. Upper corner shows my Buick Regal LS. (I think I was leaning when I took this picture).
