BMW Z3
The Z3 began it's life in 1996 as a 1.9 liter roadster convertible.
The engine was the same as in the 318ti (the M44 engine). In 1997 it gained an optinal
2.8 liter engine (M52) besides the 1.9. More were sold as 2.8s, so in 1998
they added the Motorsport 3.2 liter engine (S52) and tunnings, and dubbed
it the M Roadster. Finally in for 1999, BMW dropped the low selling 1.9
engine, replaced it with a 2.5 liter engine (called the Z3 2.3), and besides
the 2.8 Roadster, added a 2.8 Coupe and M Coupe. After staring at the Z3
for about an hour, I decided I really did like the way it looked, so here is it's
page. All the photos are from the BMW USA site, so check it out from my links page!
(This one's for you Jean:)
2.8 Roadster
Here is a 2.8 liter Roadster. There is no way to tell a 2.8 from
a 2.3 from the outside.
Another 2.8 Roadster
This is another Roadster, but with an optional cap on it.
2.8 Coupe
Nice wheels on the 2.8 Coupe.
