Open bar lasted an hour, so we had some strategizing to do (“Julia, we need to at least be finishing our second drink and ordering our third before open bar ends!”). We didn’t move nearly as quickly as we thought we should have, but it’d been a long while since my last mixed drink!! We got our third free drink ordered anyway, though. Overall, the bar was kinda cheesy but still fun. It was just like in the movie (which was based on the original NYC Coyote Ugly), but because it’s the, like, 800th Coyote Ugly in the chain, it’s a little less than authentic at this point! But amusing, nonetheless. Tables with no chairs because they’re only intended as dance surfaces for the bartenders and female patrons, half naked female bartenders who will do pretty intense body shots for a mere $20, lots and lots of other ruckus.
We proceeded to get more and more in the “New Year’s spirit” (i.e., ripped) and we had a much better time than expected after the last minute venue change (tix to Tequila Rain sold out before we got ours). Some funny and not-so-funny drama ensued (lost IDs, lost wallets, etc, etc), but it was a good time for the most part. Our massive hangovers kept us in all day Thursday, but Jules and I made a surprise call to Turkey to talk to Esra! And then I spent all of Friday on the train back to Syracuse… it was sad to leave my favoritest city ever and one of my bestest friends ever :(

Finally ready after I raided her jewelry! |
Me & Julia again…
One more time! |
Fash & Julia upon arrival at the bar… |
And a reshoot…. |
Fash, his cousin Randy, and Jules |
This random guy just jumped in the picture because he was about to walk in front of it! |
Me and Fash with some kid blinded by the flash in the background… |
Jules’ covert shot of the girls dancing on the tables… |
My candid of the bar… |
Uh oh, someone told the bartenders it was this guy’s birthday! |
He got a little birthday whipping, courtesy of the girl that served our sprite’n’vodkas all night long… |
Fash’s friend and fellow Cornell alum Tyler (I knew he looked familiar!) |
More dancing on the tables… I told Jules I needed at least 3 more drinks before I would get up there! |
Yay for test tube shots! I finally broke down after the girl had walked by a bazillion times… |
Jules had a Blue Hawaiian and I had some red stuff..? |
It was wayyy sweeter than I thought it was gonna be! |
The shot put me a good deal closer to getting up there… |
The toast at midnight after everyone was handed a free mini-bottle of champagne! |
My crown fell off after this picture… so I ended up taking his! |
Coyote Ugly’s motto on the bouncers’ shirts. Uh, I vote to have it changed to “Whatever happens BECAUSE of Coyote Ugly…”! |
I almost got in a fight with this girl because I took a picture of her boyfriend… he didn’t really appreciate it, either! “Muh bad,” as S would say! |
Fash and Julia later…. way later… |
Awww, the cousins!! This is one of my favorite pictures of the night… |
Triple-fisting the test tube shot, a sprite’n’vodka, and the champagne was enough to get me up there! |
I kinda remember it being crappy music to dance to, though… |
But apparently Jules got really into her singing! :) |
Haha, you can still see the scar on my elbow from my fall off the sidewalk on Halloween! |
I guess I took a lot of pictures of Jules & Fash together! |
The group, minus me.. with Tyler blocking everyone! |
And the group again… |
Fash, Julia & I |
Another one of my favorites from the night… |
I have noooo idea what I’m doing in this picture because I’m obviously not reaching for my camera! |
Well, at least Julia noticed Fash was taking our picture! |
The bouncers were really nice, helping us onto and off of the tables… |
I vaguely remember trying to take a picture of two of the bartenders doing one of their choreographed dances, but I wasn’t coordinated enough to get more than one in the frame at a time! |
More Tyler.. apparently, gum-chewing boy was stunned as well..! |
The guy in the lower right-hand corner asked me to dance after I got off the table, and I was like “uh.. I hate dancing!” Not the most convincing excuse, but whatever! |
The boys before Fash and Julia left for home… |
I don’t exactly remember taking this, but this guy was pretty cool in his Guns’n’Roses shirt and skater hat… |
