Epilogue

Bura stood with her hands in her pockets as she looked down at the city below. The president's office was high above the other buildings nearby and she felt like she was on top of the world. Behind her, Trunks was scribbling madly as he rushed to finish his work.

"What are you doing just standing there?" he demanded, annoyed. "Don't you want to get to the restaurant in time?"

"It's my engagement party, Trunks," she scoffed. "I don't think the party will start without me."

"I'd still like to get out of here before six," he said. "And if you don't get you ass in a chair..."

"Alright, alright. When did you become so bossy?"

"They don't call me 'Boss' for nothing," he said, turning back to the papers under his nose.

Bura laughed despite herself. She took her seat at her own desk. Trunks had it brought in the day she started working and she appreciated the gesture, though she knew it was more for himself than for her. He wanted to ensure her place at Capsule Corp. because he wanted to leave. She knew it, he knew she knew it. They just had to tell their mother.

At quarter to six, they were getting into their coats. Together, they walked out of the building and into the waiting limo outside.

"I never would have guessed that you and Goten would get married," Trunks said, taking her hand and looking at the engagement ring.

"Is it weird for you?" she asked, nudging him with her elbow. "He is your best friend and all."

Trunks snorted. "Come on, Bura. I married my best friend's niece. I know weird. This is nothing."

Bura laughed. "Oh yeah."

"I'm glad you two are together," Trunks said, his tone gentle as he put an arm around her shoulders. "He'll take good care of you."

"Yes. He will."

They smiled at each other. The limo pulled up to Bura's Place then, and they stepped out. Goten was at the door and when he saw Bura emerge, he rushed out and took her hand.

"Easy there, buddy," Trunks said, laughter in his voice. "She's not going to go anywhere."

Goten made a face at him. "That's not what I'm worried about. Just get in there and find your wife. She's picking Yamcha's brain about all the new cars that came out this year and she's driving him nuts."

Trunks rolled his eyes and left the two alone. Goten kissed his future wife, his dark eyes tender.

"So how's life at Capsule Corp.?"

"Everything I'd dreamed. But I'm glad that I'm with you now."

"Good."

"Are you nervous, Goten?"

"Not really. I asked my mom how much she cooked usually for everyone and I made twice as much since the kids are here too."

Bura chuckled. "Not about that. About us."

"No," he said, tilting her chin up so he could look into her eyes. "We're the one thing I'm never nervous about."

She smiled. "Good. Now what say we join the others? I'm pretty hungry."

He put an arm around her shoulders and she put one around his waist. They turned to face their gathered friends and family. Trunks raised a glass of champagne and everyone followed suit.

"To Goten and Bura...may joy be with you for the rest of your lives," he said solemnly. "You've found your soulmate...don't ever let each other go.

"Cheers," Vegeta said.

Bura mouthed a thank you to her father and smiled luminously at the others as their glasses clinked together. Goten's hand tightened its hold on hers and when their eyes met, her smile widened.

"This is gonna be our biggest project yet," she murmured.

"And boy is it gonna be fun," he agreed just before his lips met hers.

Juno jumped into Goten's arms then. The little boy pressed a sticky kiss onto Bura's cheek and she grinned.

"Yup. It's gonna be a lot of fun."
