
William Post Bosworth was born in New Jersey. He was 20 years of age, five feet seven inches high, dark complexion, black eyes and by occupation a Confectioner.
He enlisted on 9 October 1861 in Williamsburg (Brooklyn, New York) as a Private in Captain Frederick Cocheu's Company H of the D'Epineuil Zouaves. He was to serve three years. He mustered in on 10 October 1861.
He mustered out with his company on 20 March 1862 in Washington D.C.
Upon receipt of his discharge, he returned to his job as a confectioner. He and his wife had six children that lived to adulthood.
In 1904 he, his wife and youngest daughter moved to Los Angeles, California.
In 1922, William Bosworth died in Santa Monica, California.
