i don't know how long your
request has been on the 'net' so i'm not sure how
much i can help you. i knew
Lt Col C.A SEWELL in NAM. after he retired ,about
1983 he became a test pilot
and was killed in a crash of an f-18 some where
about that time. Sorry.
I knew CAPT PITT AND CAPT HEUBER just a little bit
because they were only in
VMFA 314 a relative short time before they went
down. as i remember they
were both kind of quit quiet and capt heuber kind of
remined me of one of my
hi school english teachers. I didn't know we were
surposed to be 'afloat '
at that time.we were actually stationed in tiawan for
about 2 months while the
chinese were converting from f-86 jets to f-5's.
i was just looking for my
cruise book, i just had it out, but i have a unique
filing system,so.. when
i find it, a day or two i hope, i'll send you pictures
of the three of them. they
were all great guy's.
if by chance any one else
has responded, could you please forward their
address.
it's good to know there's
still people out there that care.
thanks again MSGT BILL ALEXANDER

Deborah,
There were 2500 mia's during
our years in Vietnam. Of that number
there were only about 600
of us that were repatriated. The number that
were killed shortly a after
being downed or captured is unknown. If they
were shot down or captured
inLaos or Cambodia, and were killed the
situation becomes a matter
of security because they violated the air
space of another country
other thatn Vietnam. I did not know of the two
men that you write of, so
I cannot be of much help. It is possible that
one of the Nam Pow group
might have known them, but then there were only
38 Marines that returned
home and the majority of them were grunts.
Sorry I could not help in
your quest.
Sincerely, R.Burgess

Deborah,
I'm sory I can't give you
any information about your adopted
Brothers. I didn't know
them before I was shot down Nov. 5, 1965 and had no
word of them while I was
a POW or after my release in 1973.
I have a great deal of respect
for those serving this country in the military,
like your husband, in this
time of cut backs but increased obligations.
GOOD LUCK.
