FIRST GENERATION

THOMAS CROCKER, born about 1633 possibly Massachusetts or England, and RACHEL CHAPPELL are named in New London Vital Statistics Compilations; Vol. 1; as parents of Samuel, born 23 July 1676 and bp 10 Sep 1676. They married about 1667. Rachel was born 10 Oct 1649 Wethersfield New London CT; died 17 Aug 1728 New London CT; daughter of George Chappell and Margaret (unknown). Thomas died 18 Jan 1714/15.

Thomas arrived in New London CT by 1660. He served in the Pequot War in New London. He was part of many land transactions buying and selling. He became active in community affairs and received several political appointments.
