About My Kids

  • Natasha
  • Victoria
  • Chantelle
  • James

Natasha- She is 12 years old and in the 7th grade. Natasha looks and acts just like me! When Natasha "grows up" she wants to be an artist. She draws me pretty pictures all the time. And she loves to give me kisses and hugs! Natasha is also the best big sister her siblings could ask for. She loves her brother and sisters so much and she is a big help for me. She can be too much like me sometimes though...she is a little sarcastic, and very stubborn but I find the sarcasm to be very cute.

Victoria- Tori is very small but very strong and LOUD! She is 10 and in grade 5 and she now loves school, which is great and she also attends Sunday School. She wants to be a singer when she "grows up". She loves to listen to my CDs and sing to her sisters. One day, Curtis caught her singing "Staying Alive" while sweeping the floor. He asked her to sing it again for me, but she won't, 'cuz she's too embarrassed! And we call her Tori, she says Victoria is too big of a name for her, since she is so tiny! Tori tells me she loves me every chance she gets.

Chantelle- She is 7 and so sweet. She is in grade 1. She LOVES it! Tellie is always running around, keeping herself (and me) VERY busy. She talks a lot, even when I put her to bed, and everyone at her Sunday School adores her. She always points at me and says "That's MY Mom!" She had a recital for Christmas, and she stopped on the stage, pointed at me and Curtis and screamed "There's my Mom and Dad!" We are so proud of her. She loves Teletubbies (they scare me a little) and Blue's Clues. I admit I watch Blue's Clues with her, and she calls Steve "Skeev", lol. Tellie is a perfect little lady and she loves everyone. She has always been good and hardly ever cries. What more could a mommy ask for?

James- He is our newest addition, and a wonderful baby. He was born on August 26, 1998, weighing 7 lbs, 2 oz. Jamie has big brown eyes like his dad, and light brown hair. He laughs and smiles all the time, he's such a happy, sweet baby! I have to say having a boy is really a great experience, although strange after having three girls! He is now 4 years old, and he can say anything we do. We call him our "little parrot". (We have to watch our mouths around him!) His first word was "Tasha". Now he can say almost anything, including, "Don't look at me!" He gets around real fast and he is forever into things. He loves to watch Teletubbies and Blue's Clues with Chantelle, but he mostly likes commercials, lol. Oh yeah, and he has slept through the night since he was three weeks old. Cool huh?

I have a funny story about Natasha. About three years ago, I took all the kids to dinner after we had been clothes shopping. Natasha was in a silly mood. She kept looking at Chantelle, asleep in her carseat. Finally I asked her what was wrong. She said, "Mommy, there's a BEE on her head!" Of course, I freaked out and looked, but Natasha started giggling. I chastised her, saying, "That wasn't funny, you scared me". A few minutes later, Tasha told me there was a bee on MY head. It went on all throuhg dinner, and on the ride home. When we got home, I was folding laundry in my room, and asked Natasha to sit by me on the bed. I told her it was wrong to make up such stories, and I quickly told her the story about the "Boy Who Cried Wolf". At the end, I asked, "What is the moral of the story, honey?" Natasha looked at me, then piped up, "There's a wolf on your head!" (I love that one so much!)

My daughter Victoria was born with a growth hormone deficiency. Basically, she is a proportional dwarf, although we do not use that word. She doesnt like to be called a dwarf. We just call her "little". The only difference between her and her siblings is that she is very small in stature and she has low blood sugar, which is due to her condtition. Victoria is the size of a 3 year old, although she is 7. At this time, it is very difficult for her because she doesn't like being different from the other children, and many people, mostly adults can be quite cruel.
