PROFESSIONAL CAREER 1. career began with Opera Theater of St. Louis, where she sung several roles between 1983 and 1989, including Pamina, Ilia, Beatrice in BEATRICE ET BENEDICT, and Morgana in ALCINA. 2. European debut- May 2, 1984, in Schwetzingen, singing the title role of Rudolf Kelterborn's OPHELIA. Reprised that at Berlin Deutsche Oper soon after. 3. 1987- Pamina at the Vienna Staatsoper 4. 1988- Ilia in IDOMENEO at Lyons and Strasbourg, Susanna at Amsterdam and Vienna 5. 1989- Covent Garden debut as Ilia (see Opera News 2/17/90 p. 48); Glyndebourne debut as Anne Trulove in RAKE 6. 1990- Ilia at the Salzburg Festival and at the Paris Opera; Gluck's Euridice and Marzelline at Salzburg as well (see Opera News 1/19/91 p. 42); Servilia in CLEMENZIA DI TITO back at Covent Garden 7. 1991-2- Met debut as Marzelline in FIDELIO (Jan. 27, 31, Feb. 3, 8, 1992) with Hildegard Behrens, Reiner Goldberg, Donald Kaasch, Ekkehard Wlaschiha, Matti Salminen, and Alan Held. Also returned to Covent Garden as the poetess Corinna in Rossini's IL VIAGGIO A REIMS (see Opera News 11/92 p. 50). 8. 1992-3- San Francisco Opera debut as Tytania in A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM with Susan Patterson as Helena, Catherine Keen as Hermia, Brian Asawa as Oberon, Kurt Streit as Lysander, David Malis as Demetrius, and Donald Adams as Bottom (see Opera News 2/13/93). 9. 1993-4- Returned to Metropolitan Opera as Pamina in DIE ZAUBERFLOTE (November 3, 6, 9, 13, 16, 20); performances called "consistently pleasing" in New York Times Review 11/6/93 p. 14. 10. 1995-6- Lyric Opera of Chicago- performed Rosina in the local premiere of John Corigliano's THE GHOSTS OF VERSAILLES (see Opera News 2/17/96 p. 46; Opera 3/96 p. 279-82). In the summer she sang Ann Trulove in THE RAKE'S PROGRESS at Santa Fe Opera. 11. 1996-7- starred in the Metropolitan Opera premiere of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM, as Tytania with Nancy Gustafson as Helena, Jane Bunnell as Hermia, Victoria Livengood as Hippolyta, Jochen Kowalski/Derek Lee Ragin as Oberon, Kurt Streit as Lysander, Rodney Gilfry as Demetrius, Peter Rose as Bottom, Barry Banks as Flute, Anthony Laciura as Snout, John del Carlo as Quince, Jeffrey Wells as Theseus, Bradley Garvin as Starveling.
