Patrick Ewing's first game against the New York Knicks will be televised by TBS. Ewing, traded by the Knicks to the SuperSonics this month after 15 seasons in New York, will face his old team on Nov. 14 at Seattle. TBS added the game to its NBA schedule. Turner Sports is entering the third season of its TV deal with the NBA. TBS will show 29 games and TNT 52 this season.

After 15 seasons with the New York Knicks Patrick Ewing felt it was time to say good bye and start a new. The Trade involed four teams, the LA Lakers,Super Sonics, the Suns, and the Knicks. The Knicks sent Ewing to the Sonics, and recieved Glen Rice, Vernon Maxwell, Lazaro Borrell, four draft picks Luc Longley, Travis Knight and Vladimir Stepania. Herb Williams, maded his debut last night as a guest radio analyst,filling in for John Andariese. Williams, 42, was the respected sage in the locker room for seven seasons. When the Knicks decided not to re-sign him after last season, Ewing criticized the move.for more info click here

Last night againist the Hawks Patrick Ewing scored his 23,000 carrer point. He is the 27th person in NBA hisotry to achieve that. The Knicks had a chance to tie from first place in the Alantic Divison last night.The Knicks and Miami are one game apart in the stands. The Heat lost last night to the Raptors, giving the Knicks a chance to tie with a win aganist the hawks. But the Knicks fell short 96-94, if Miami loses today againist Indiana and the Knicks beat the Kings Sunday they will tie the division. If that does happen Jeff Van Gundy will be named the head coach of the Eastern-Conference All-Star team. The spot goes to the coach whoes team has the best record in the division. In this case it should be Indiania Pacers' coach Larry Bird, but because he coached last year he can not retain the spot. So Miami and the Knicks are 2nd and 3rd respectfully. But if the two team tie Van Gundy would win the spot because Miami's Coach has coach the team serveral time before.

Charlie Ward will give away Christmas presents to Harlem youth on December 17, 1999 @ 4:15 p.m., at Basketball Court-Corner of 120th Street and Second Avenue. The program called Operation Holiday Hope Gift Give-Away to Harlem Youth. Last month, Charlie Ward was chosen as 1999 spokesperson for Operation Holiday Hope, an outreach program of Metro Ministries International that gives at-risk inner-city children gifts throughout the Christmas holiday. His involvement with the campaign includes appearances throughout December.
Metro Ministries is a faith-based organization in Brooklyn, New York, and each week, the ministry reaches over 20,000 at-risk inner-city children through after school programs that have been initiated throughout New York City. (excerpted from NYK Mail)
Chris Dudley will make an appearance as Santa Clause at the NBA Store located on Fifth Avenue and 52nd Street in New York City on December 21, at 4:00p.m. . .Dudley will be taking a group of kids from the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation around the Store to shop for a gift for their loved ones. . .Dudley will also sign autographs and be interviewed by NBA.com TV.

Marcus Camby will be honored as New York Magazine's Athlete of the Year on Monday, December 6, 1999, at a reception to be held at the "Saturday Night Live" studio in Manhattan. . .Last year's recipient of the award was New York Yankee's pitcher Orlando "El Duque" Hernandez. Also New York Knick Allan Houston and former Knick John Starks will be signing autographs and passing out prizes on December 6, 1999. Location is yet to be revealed.(Excerpted from NYK Mail)

Marcus Camby at practice yesterday shared how his injury affected his and the teams performace.
"For us to be successful, I have to be 100 percent," said Camby who has been playing with tendinitis for a week. "When we started our downfall, that's when my knee started hurting. I haven't been playing well, and the team hasn't been playing well. I have to start thinking more about myself right now, and try to get myself healthy. I want to get my knee right, so I can get back to playing like I had been."(NYT 11/23/99)

Mirsad Turkcan made his NBA debut last night during the Knicks' 96-81 loss to the Suns and, for the most part, looked as though he were going to jump out of his skin. His production was actually good: In a three-minute stint during the only quarter that mattered (the second), he grabbed a rebound, created a turnover with a deflection and was a decent ball-mover. He finished with two points, four boards, and an assist in seven minutes.
"He told me today I'd get a chance to play, because Larry Johnson is hurt," Turkcan said, referring to coach Jeff Van Gundy. "I was nervous, you know, because I've waited one year to come to the NBA. But after that (second quarter), I was better."(excepted from the Star Ledger)

Rebuilding City Courts for the City Game
The Red Holzman Knicks Kids Foundation and the New York Knicks are renovating basketball courts around New York. FUBU & the Knicks have donated a total of $200,000 and plenty of man-hours towards the renovation and maintenance of several basketball courts throughout New York City. On November 9th FUBU, the Knicks, and the New York City Parks and Recreation dedicated the Abe Lincoln playground in Harlem as one of the first in a series of court renovations. Court renovations will also take place at the St. James Park in the Bronx and other courts to be named.
Allan Houston’s Courtside Classroom
All season long Allan Houston and the Red Holzman Knicks Kids Foundation will reward New York City high school students for their outstanding classroom attendance, participation, and overall academic excellence. The selected students are greeted by Houston himself and sit courtside, where they watch the Knicks pre-game warm-ups, and receive Knicks gift bags before heading to their seats to enjoy the game.
Targeting the Holiday Spirit
November 14th,the New York Knicks joined forces with Target Stores for a Thanksgiving Party. The New York Knicks 11-time All-Star center Patrick Ewing hosted a Thanksgiving dinner for 40 youngsters from the Starlight Children’s Foundation.All 40 youngsters were given courtside access to the Knicks pre-game shoot-around along with tickets to that evening’s game.

Knicks and Target Annual Coat Drive is December 10th. All winter coats are appreciated especially coats for men.

All toys should be unwrapped or wrapped with boy or girl clearly written on the outside.
Target Food Drive was a success thanks to NYK fans
On November 8th Knick fans raised over 150 pounds of canned foods that was donated to the Salvation Army. Way to go fans!!!

Ewing to miss training camp!
After reports from the Knicks that there was no time table for Ewings return, despite the fact that his Achilles' tendon has completely healed. Ewing has stated this week that he will not be ready in time for training camp because he is still suffering from tendinitis and cannot run. Ewing did say that he hopes to be ready for the start of the season.

Knick Sign New General Manager Scott Layden to replace Erine Grundfield (who was dismissed during this season because of problems in the organization and lack of preformance by the Knicks.) The Knicks new General Manager is the former manager of the Utah Jazz and has much experience.
